8BitDo Turns The NES Gamepad Into A Mouse

The third-party game maker, 8Bitdo, is now selling a computer mouse inspired by the NES controller for Windows and Mac. Made in partnership with Swedish designer Daniel Jansson, the 8BitDo N30 2.4g wireless mouse features the iconic red circular buttons, the black D-pad, and the gray body of the Nintendo entertainment system.

According to Engadget, who worked hand-in-hand with the mouse, this looks a lot like any classic two-button mouse, except that the scroll wheel is replaced by a stealthy touchpad and the D-pad on the side lets you toggle between the previous pages. Page Down, Forward, and Upward. The N30 incorporates the standard optical resolution of 1,000 dpi with Windows and macOS compatibility.

A single AA battery will last between 100 and 120 hours of use, and a power switch will help you save battery power. Besides, the mouse supports wireless and wired USB connections. According to a representative of 8BitDo, it was his company that contacted to Jansson in the hope of obtaining a license for the design of his mouse, which he accepted with joy.

“He was just happy that someone could finally do the manufacturing after all these years,” said the representative to Engadget. The 8BitDo N30 2.4g Wireless Mouse costs $24.99 and can be ordered from the 8Bitdo website.
