Quanta CMS: review and short description

Quanta is a new generation CMS conceived and built by Aldo Tripiciano, IT expert with over 15 years of experience in large open source PHP CMSs, who decided to take it a step further.

Quanta is a flat file CMS with no database: all entities are nothing but system folders / directories with JSON files to store the metadata, and other assets (files, images, etc.). All metadata stored in JSON files. It can be retrieved, packaged in HTML (5) templates and displayed via custom customizable (q). Quanta’s file system architecture makes up for it extremely well. This happens because, thanks to an internal cache vocabulary-based indexing, makes node retrieval super fast. Most “queries” are then done internally using native UNIX commands such as find. And distributing a Quanta application across multiple virtual machines is done simply by setting the correct system paths. The standardized approach also makes it easy to implement disaster recovery procedures….

Using Quanta CMS is easy and entertaining not only as a coder but also as an end user. There are many q coming out of the box, such as [LIST] [TREE] [BLOCK] [PLAYLIST] [MAILFORM] even [BLOG], allowing complex web applications to be created with just a few. Quanta comes with a UI interface for content editing and backend, and includes standard workflow and moderation (status / revision …) and single node access control. Under the hood, Quanta takes inspiration from the best practices adopted by most of the popular CMSs: it is modular (core + contrib + custom modules) it is 100% object oriented including a command line tool (Doctor) used for installation, diagnosing and solving consistency problems it uses hooking functions includes a special markup system, Q. it includes its own template engine, a special Form engine, with special form components an internal static caching system an overlay user interface (Shadow) with WYSIWYG and multiple file upload
