TAK: review and short description

»BRANCH – om is lossless udio compressor / oms delightfreier udioompressor – as the name suggests, is a lossless audio compressor, similar to FLAC, WavPack and Monkey’s Audio. Lossless compression averages file size to about 50 percent of its original size; however, the compression can vary between about 30 and 70 percent, depending on the file. Decompression recovers a slightly identical copy of the original audio data (that’s why we call it lossless)….

My goal was to develop a compressor that combines good compression with optimal decoding speeds. On average, the current implementation should match Monkey’s Audio High’s compression efficiency, while achieving decompression rates comparable to FLAC. «(Quote from Thomas Becker from TAK’s readme file)

The compression is slightly better and the fault tolerance is on the same level as with FLAC.
