Apple Refuses To Give Up On AirPower Wireless Charger

More than a year ago, Apple announced with AirPower an accessory that allows three devices to be charged simultaneously wirelessly. It has not been published yet, but it is obvious that the project was not abandoned.

The documentation of the new iPhone XR clearly mentions this new product.

The "Bonjour" paper guide, supplied with Apple's latest smartphone, says, "Place the iPhone face up on the AirPower or Qi certified wireless charger." The same label is used in the documentation of the iPhone XS series.

In addition, the code embedded in version 12.1 of the iOS beta has been updated to support the features of AirPower.

The sad greeting from AirPower

Apple's first AirPower was launched last September along with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, the first iOS smartphones to support wireless charging. This accessory can, but is not limited to, load an iPhone, Apple and AirPod.

If there is an iPhone with other devices in the charger, the phone screen displays the charge status of other devices.

In addition, the phone, etc. may be arranged in any way on the charger.

AirPower Date of Mystery

The promise of CEO Tim Cook that AirPower will be available in 2017 has therefore not materialized. The company hopes to have this accessory on the market by the end of the year.

To update: Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities has just sent a message to investors to predict that this much-delayed product will meet this deadline or that potential customers may have to wait until the first three months of 2019.
