Neverwinter

Neverwinter is a surprise. It is thematic Dungeons & Dragons, where the places, classes, spells, and skills are taken from the tabletop game and then crammed into one for the Best MMORPGs. It shouldn’t work, but it should somehow. It helps that there is a genuine love for the source material, and every search feels like one that you could imagine you could start while sitting at a table.

Many free extensions – including new races and classes – have been introduced over time since Neverwinter was launched, making players far from the safety of Neverwinter itself to countries like Icewind Dale, where barbarians and irksome temperatures are the least worryings. It is a predominantly linear MMO, but when you have almost no new content left, there are always things created by the player that contain some real gems that are hidden from the garbage.

World Of Warcraft Classic

World of Warcraft is around ten years old now and still is the most popular MMO in the world. WoW has changed a lot during the long reign. New classes, races, a graphic revision, whole new continents … players can even travel back in time. It’s huge, so astonishing, and you can go through it so fast that it becomes easy to skip some of the surprisingly excellent story-laden missions that have been shot.

Blizzard once said it would never happen, but World of Warcraft gets legacy servers that mimic Azeroth as it existed in 2006. This remake is called WoW Classic gold and aims to resurrect the insatiable desire to grind that so many of us until late at night. And it is out this month! The vanilla launch of World of Warcraft – before expansion packs took players to far-flung locations and the core game changed significantly – is one of the most crucial moments in PC gaming. Star Trek Online

Miss Star Trek on TV? You may just be able to transfer Star Trek Online until Discovery reappears on television screens. Every quest in this MMO is like an episode of the show, and every mission series is an arc, complete with the occasional episode of the filler. Visit DS9 in the Star Trek Online, land on different planets and practice your diplomacy, or get exciting space battles with Cardassians, Romulans, Borg, and those who cause further calamity. Space battles are tactical while being played in real-time, as it is important to position your spaceship to get the most out of your shooting bows.

During missions that turn into combat, the game turns into a squad-based third-person shooter complete with cooldowns of skills. Despite a tricky start, STO has grown into a giant, compelling and free MMO; it is often extended with huge updates that add whole new storylines, and a while back the neutral Romulan faction introduced unique missions and ships. Speaking of ships, that is what really sets this game apart from other MMOs. You are not only a hero and equipment, but you also get a whole crew and a spaceship to manage and adjust.

ArcheAge

ArcheAge is a very traditional MMO, with missions, factions, and an entirely forgettable story. But what does makes it one for the Best MMORPG games is that you can ignore all of that and go into the sea. The ocean is huge. Sailing from east to west in the fastest ship in the game can take between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on hazards such as storms, hot tubs, marine animals or pirates. There is even a legendary Kraken living in the northern ocean, and it takes a whole attack of 40+ players and ten galleon-sized ships, burning guns.

Deep under the ocean, you will find shipwrecks full of delicious premiums, the most difficult of which requires diving equipment. Meanwhile, fly high above the dragons that were introduced in Legends Return. ArcheAge’s bold recent update allowed players to adopt the winged beasts as their own, raise them to adulthood, and then ride them into battle. As buildings go, it rises there with the best. Pirate games are rarely that fantastic.

Final Fantasy XIV

It is a story of heart-warming redemption. When it was initially released, it was not very good. This ensured that Square Enix took drastic action: dumping the old team, hiring a new team and completely recreating Final Fantasy XIV. The result is A Realm Reborn. And it’s good. If you are a true fan of Final Fantasy, you will surely love Eorzea.

It touches on everything the series is known for: epic stories of good and evil that hand out, varied, painfully beautiful environments, exaggerated characters, flashy cut-scenes and chocolate bushes in abundance. It is also smart: players have a lot of flexibility in their class choice. As soon as you hit the level 10, you get the option to switch to one of the eight combat lessons in the game with just the switch of the weapon.
