Best Samsung Phones

The best Samsung phones are among the most powerful phones in the world, as the company regularly releases some of the best Android phones we’ve ever seen. It’s not for nothing that the company is the best-selling phone manufacturer in the world. Although these top-of-the-range phones are usually the most expensive, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Samsung Galaxy S20 series, some excellent Samsung smartphones don’t need to decimate your wallet. We think of phones like the Samsung Galaxy A80 and Galaxy S10 that are included in this list.

Our ranking of the best Samsung smartphones below includes both those at the top and those that are affordable, so there should be something for almost everyone; however, what they all have in common are attractive design and reliable Android software.

Best Samsung Phones

We keep this list up to date, and recently that meant adding Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. So, read below to see the best Samsung phones that you should consider before buying.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

The best Note ever

best samsung phones

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a beast of a device with a beast of a price. According to our review, it has the best looking screen of any phone and the best camera of any Android phone – one that is also brilliantly fun to use, thanks to its 5x optical zoom, fun filters, and slick camera interface. That camera setup includes a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP periscope, and a 12MP ultra-wide, while the display is a massive 6.9-inch 1440 x 3088 Super-AMOLED with 496 pixels per inch and a refresh rate up to 120Hz.

But the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra doesn’t stop there, as it also stands out from the competition thanks to its S-Pen stylus, which allows you to scribble on the screen, synchronize voice recordings with your handwritten notes, and much more. Plus, the phone also has supreme power, including 12GB RAM and a Snapdragon 865 Plus or Exynos 990 chipset. What you get depends on where you are in the world, but both are extremely powerful. Currently, this is the best Samsung phone to buy.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus

The best device from the Galaxy S20 series

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is currently at the top of our ranking of the largest Samsung phones available, beating even the more expensive Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. So it is not surprising that this is a fantastic phone. The design of the Galaxy S10 Plus has not changed dramatically, but most other elements have been upgraded. The screen now has a silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate, it has a more powerful chipset, and the cameras have been given a big boost.

The most exciting lens is the 64MP telephoto lens, which allows a 3x hybrid optical zoom, but there are also 12MP primary and 12MP ultra-wide-angle lenses and a depth sensor. Add to that a massive battery of 4,500 mAh, 5G support, and everything you expect from a Samsung flagship – such as water resistance and an in-screen fingerprint scanner – and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is one of the very best Samsung smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S20

Compact and powerful device

best samsung phones

The most one-hand-friendly version of Samsung’s flagship S20 series Although it is slightly less exciting than the Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, the standard Galaxy S20 has a lower price and a more pocket-friendly size. Although at 6.2 inches, this is still a long way from a small phone, and with QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and one of the best quality AMOLED screens on the phone, the display is worth shouting about.

The Galaxy S20 also has an impressive camera setup, with a 64MP telephoto sensor in the head, which is connected by a 12MP main unit and a 12MP ultra-wide unit – so it only misses the depth sensor of the S20 Plus. The Galaxy S20 is also available in a 5G flavor, has a massive 4,000mAh battery and top-end power, thanks to a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset (depending on where in the world you buy it). Overall, this is one of the best Samsung phones.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

Still one of the best Samsung phones

The Note 20 Ultra may have replaced the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus, but it is still one of the best stylus-toting phones out there. It comes with a large screen, a powerful processor, and four rear cameras. The highlight of this device is the previously mentioned S Pen, a stylus that helps you charge your device. It is not only used for drawing and taking notes; a series of gesture controls help you get the most out of your device. Yes, the phone is expensive (prohibited for some), but every penny you pay goes straight to one of the best Samsung phones over, and one of the best handsets full stop.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

The ultimate flagship – at a top price

best samsung phones

If money would not be an objection, then the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra would be higher on this list, because in many ways, it might be the best Samsung phone you can buy. It has a big 6.9-inch 1440 x 3200 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus a quad-lens camera, equipped with a 108MP primary sensor, and also with a 48MP periscope zoom suitable for up to 100x digital zoom.

It also has the same top-end chipset as the rest of the Galaxy S20 series, combined with up to 16GB RAM – which is more than the other two models. So you get a bigger screen, more power, a demonstrably higher specification (though inconsistent) camera, and a massive 5,000mAh battery, but the price – and size – will prove impractical for many. Overall, this is one of the best Samsung smartphones right now.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

The best folding phone in the world

With the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung may have the first large foldable. The design has been considerably enhanced. Both screens are bigger and better than before. It uses the fastest smartphone processor you can find in an Android phone today. And best of all, the Fold 2 is even more capable than the previous one. In terms of hardware, Samsung has done a fantastic job. But the future of devices like this is not just about hardware. Some of Samsung’s software choices remain confusing, and getting the most out of the Fold 2 takes a lot of time and effort.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

A still-great Samsung flagship

best samsung phones

It is a significant upgrade compared to the model of the previous year, with a newer design for the entire screen, made possible by the Samsung grams in favor of a punch-hole camera. Speaking of the camera, you get three on the back and two on the front, making this a very versatile camera phone. The fingerprint scanner is on the screen, which is much more ideal than on the back, as was the case with the S9 series, and there is a massive 4,100mAh battery, which gives the Galaxy S10 Plus a lot of life. You might even consider using the Wireless PowerShare feature to power other devices. Overall, this is one of the best Samsung smartphones right now.

Samsung Galaxy A71

Best Mid-range Option

The Galaxy A71 is one of the best Samsung phones yet – and not only in the mid-range segment. Nothing is missing: you get a gigantic 6.7-inch AMOLED screen (the second only for the S20 Ultra), supported by robust internal hardware, versatile quad cameras on the back with a 64MP primary sensor, and an incredible battery life with 25W fast charging. Combine that with a stunning design, and it’s easy to see why the Galaxy A71 is one of the best devices out there. If you’re looking for a reliable option without spending too much money, the Galaxy A71 should be at the top of your list.

Samsung Galaxy A51

Best budget phone by Samsung

best samsung phones

The Galaxy A51 continues the legacy of last year’s A50 by bringing the best features Samsung has to offer to a more attractive price range. The phone has a massive 6.5-inches Super-AMOLED display with vivid colors and excellent contrast levels, and you also get a 48MP camera on the back, along with a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP-macro lens, and a 2MP-portrait camera.

The design itself has also been refreshed, with the Galaxy A51 looking just as modern as the Galaxy S20 series. There is a recess for the front camera, and thanks to the thin edges, the phone is not too clumsy to use. The A51 has a generous 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging power, and although it is not the most powerful phone in the world, the base is good. The only thing missing is the Samsung Pay. Still, this is one of the best Samsung smartphones that you can buy right now.

Samsung Galaxy A80

Another affordable smartphone by Samsung

Samsung’s premium Note and S-series are not the only good phones, as it has the Galaxy A devices that offer toned-down specifications at lower prices. But A phones are also Samsung’s living labs for more new ideas, and that is exactly what the Galaxy A80 is, with its cameras. When you want to take a selfie on the Galaxy A80, which does not have a front-facing camera (to make room for a full screen without complications), a panel with the rear cameras of the device appears and rotates, which is a quirky and fun gimmick.

However, there is more to the phone than to the cameras, with a 6.7 inch AMOLED display and an impressive charging speed, making it a decent option for people who are looking for one of the best Samsung smartphones.
