If the predictions of TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo are correct, we may have a few more Apple products to look forward to in the near future. Apparently, Apple could launch another affordable 10.8-inch iPad this year and then follow up with a second attack – a new iPad mini (8.5~9.0 inches) – in early 2021.
Kuo said the latest models “will follow the product strategy of iPhone SE,” which means they will still be affordable but will be built around Apple’s fastest chips. He did not predict a price point for these models, but considering that the 10-inch iPad currently costs $329, we cannot imagine that the new iPad will cost more than $350. Kuo has made reliable predictions, also for the new Apple iPhone SE.
The analyst also predicted that Apple will launch an augmented reality glasses called Apple Glasses in 2022. This is obviously a drop-out from the affordable train, as Kuo notes: “The lamination cost of Apple glasses will be high because the lens requires multi-layer lamination to create an innovative MR/AR user experience”.
We will have to wait and see if the analyst’s predictions are true, and it won’t be too long before we do.
