Best Fujifilm Cameras

Do you need help to choose one of the Best Fujifilm Cameras? We can help. For most of us, the best feature in Fujifilm’s product range is occupied by compact X-series cameras. These mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses are split into two categories, the more advanced mini-DSLR styling with a conventionally placed viewfinder, be it of an electronic instead of an optical type.

Favorites include the X-S10, X-T30, and X-T4, which you will find at numbers 1st, fourth, and second in this manual, respectively. The other category has a more regular compact camera styling, without a finder on the top panel. These include the XF10, at number eight. On the other side of the scale is the GFX 50R camera – but that’s a specialized medium-sized housing that takes different lenses and is aimed at professional photographers with an appropriate price tag.

Fujifilm has a long film history, dating back to 1934 when it developed photographic film for cameras. Since then, it has been recorded in cameras and even left the focus on film to dive deep into compact digital cameras. In this article, we have mentioned some of the best Fujifilm cameras that you can buy right now.

List of the best Fujifilm cameras

Many cameras from Fujifilm are built around the APS C-sensor, including the latest and best cameras from the X-series, which offer high resolutions and many functions.

Fujifilm X-S10

Fujifilm’s latest X-mount camera is brilliant for enthusiasts

best Fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen, 1.04m dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2,360k dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 30/8fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Intermediate/Expert

The Fujifilm X-S10 doesn’t have the external exposure dials of the higher-end X-series cameras, but that’s all we can complain about, and it’s clear that this is not an “amateur” camera, as the build quality and handling immediately stand out. The switch to a conventional dial may disappoint Fujifilm fans, but the excellent finish, build quality and handling and the addition of IBIS (in-body stabilization) give this camera a very broad appeal, especially in this price range.

To produce perhaps the best combination of performance, quality and value in the APS-C mirrorless camera market today. The camera even has a variangle rear screen, which is another reason why we rate this new camera higher than our previous favorite, the X-T30. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-T4

The most powerful APS-C mirrorless camera you can get

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in articulating touchscreen, 1,620k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 3.69 million dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 30/15fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Expert/professional

We still think the Fujifilm X-T4 is the benchmark by which all APS-C mirrorless cameras can be judged. The X-T3, first announced in 2018, was already a very impressive camera, missing only a few key features – in-body image stabilization and a vari-angle touchscreen. The X-T4 just adds those, building on what came before to become one of the best mirrorless cameras out there. It still has the advanced 26.1-megapixel X-Trans sensor, super-fast autofocus and the ability to shoot 4K video.

Fujifilm has even improved the shutter over the X-T3, producing a model that lasts longer and can achieve higher sustained burst speeds, and has also replaced the battery for a newer model that lasts much longer. There really is very little to fault on a camera like this, and if your budget stretches that far, you really can’t go wrong here. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-T200

It’s a neat and affordable DSLR-style mirrorless model that’s rather good

best Fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.2MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in articulating touchscreen, 2,760k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2,360k dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 8fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Intermediate

We loved the concept of Fujifilm’s X-T100 when it came out, as a sort of bridge between the high-end professional X-series models and the more entry-level photographers, so it was great to see the release of the X-T200, which builds on that concept while fixing some of the problems with the original. Video is vastly improved on the X-T200, with 4K now at a frame rate of 30p instead of the 15p of the X-T100.

As for the sensor, while you still don’t get the X-Trans chip used on the more expensive cameras, the 24.2MP APS-C CMOS model of the X-T200 is not to be sneezed at, and extra features like 8fps burst shooting make the deal a lot more enjoyable. The camera is usually bundled with the XC15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ kit lens, making it a good starter choice for anyone considering buying their first and one of the best Fujifilm cameras.

Fujifilm X-T30

The X-T30 is compact and remarkably powerful… but does it have a future?

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,040k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2,360k dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 30/8fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Intermediate/Expert

Currently the Fujifilm X-T4 is the most powerful camera in Fujifilm’s X-mount camera series, but the smaller X-T30 offers the same traditional controls in a much smaller and more affordable body. It’s the replacement for the beloved Fujifilm X-T20, with slightly more resolution, greatly improved autofocus and the ability to shoot up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter and 1.25 crop mode. It’s like a mini version of the X-T3, but it’s a lot smaller, a lot cheaper and doesn’t give much away in features or performance.

The 4K video capabilities are also improved, and while the X-T30 can’t compete with the professional video shooting level of the larger X-T4, the autofocus is even a little more advanced. If you want a small, affordable, all-around APS-C camera that is at the top of its game in terms of image quality and features, this is it. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-E4

A pocket sized camera for retro enthusiasts

best Fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3-in tilting touchscreen, 1,620k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2.36m dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 8/10fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Enthusiast

The Fujifilm X-E4 has the same sensor as the mighty Fujifilm X-T4 and produces images of the same quality – but in reality it is a very different kind of camera. The X-T4 (and the Fujifilm X-S10) are all-rounders that can handle all types of photo and video work. In fact, the X-T4 is one of the best 4K cameras for video and stills out there right now. However, the X-E4 is more for enthusiasts looking for the user experience of a traditional camera, or travel photographers who want a compact and portable camera with a bit of class.

Here, the X-E4 is helped by its XF27mm F2.8 lens, which not only looks and feels like a classy optic, but also delivers very good performance that is a lot above the average ‘kit’ lens. The X-E4 works best with this lens or with Fujifilm’s other compact prime lenses. It’s a camera you’d choose for the physical experience of using – or just to look at! Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-Pro3

The retro classic with a unique viewfinder

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,620k dots
  • Viewfinder: Hybrid OVF (95% cov, x0.52 mag) and OLED EVF (100% cov, x0.66 mag, 3.69m dots)
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 11fps mechanical shutter, 20fps electronic, 30fps with crop
  • Max video resolution: 4K UHD
  • User level: Enthusiast/Professional

The Fujifilm X-Pro3, also a feast for the eyes and at the very top of the price scale, attempts to recapture the handling and shooting experience of classic rangefinder cameras, but with the latest digital technology. The new model improves on the previous X-Pro2 with Fujifilm’s latest 26.1MP X-Trans sensor, improved autofocus and a unique rear screen design, which in normal use can be folded flat against the body to ‘hide’ the photo just taken and instead display a digital representation of the film pack lids we used to place in the back of our film cameras – one for each of Fujifilm’s film simulation programs!

The rear screen can be flipped down to play back images and take recordings, so this is not as radical a design as it sounds, but the hybrid electronic/optical viewfinder is still unique to Fujifilm cameras and helps this camera stand out as a photographic tool. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X100V

The latest addition to the series that started it all has real old-school charm

best Fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Compact
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 26.1MP
  • Lens: 35mm f/2 (effective)
  • Screen: 3in tilting LCD, 1,620k dots
  • Viewfinder: Optical + 3,690k-dot EVF
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 20/11fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Enthusiast

The original X100 was the camera that marked the beginning of the X series and the revival of Fujifilm’s fortunes: a retro compact camera with a street-friendly 35mm-equivalent fixed lens. In four consecutive X100 releases, Fujifilm has yet to deviate from this sublime formula, and so the X100V is a truly stunning day-to-day snapper that will help you fall in love with photography again.

Thanks to the combination of a 26.1 Megapixel APS-C sensor and a slim body that fits in your pocket, it’s a camera you can take anywhere. Room has even been found to borrow the X-Pro3’s beautiful hybrid viewfinder, making this camera stand out as a high-quality compact camera for the enthusiast (which is also reflected in the price tag). Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm XF10

It’s like an X100F but less than half the price

  • Type: Compact
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.2MP
  • Lens: 28mm f/2.8 (effective)
  • Screen: 3in fixed LCD, 1,040k dots
  • Viewfinder: No
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 6fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Enthusiast

If the idea of the Fujifilm X100V appeals to you, but the price doesn’t appeal to you so much, the little XF10 could be the answer. It’s a much more modest camera, without the XF100’s viewfinder or the old-fashioned shutter speed and aperture controls, but the XF10 still has a 24-megapixel APS-C sensor and a very handy 28mm-equivalent f/2.8 lens.

The two really attractive features, however, are the extra-slim body – which can easily fit in a jacket pocket or even a trouser pocket – and the much lower price. It’s easy to focus (sorry!) to the somewhat slow autofocus and limited features, but where else can you get a top-quality, pocket-sized APS-C camera at a price close to this? Surprisingly, the XF10 doesn’t seem to have caught the public’s attention like other Fujifilm cameras, but we think it’s great at this price.

Fujifilm GFX 50R

The GFX 100 wins for resolution, but the GFX 50R is much cheaper

best Fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: Medium format
  • Megapixels: 51.4MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm G
  • Screen: 3.2in tilting touchscreen, 2,360k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 3.69 million dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 3fps
  • Max video resolution: Full HD
  • User level: Expert/professional

Unlike virtually all other camera manufacturers, Fujifilm does not make full-frame cameras. Instead, it jumps from its APS-C models like the X-T30 and X-A5 directly to a much larger medium format sensor in its GFX models. The first was the GFX 50S, but we really appreciate the newer GFX 50R, not only because it has a neater rectangular shape, but also because it’s only three-quarters the price!

OK, the price tag seems excessive compared to regular cameras, but it’s a breakthrough for medium format cameras – and the larger sensor delivers image quality that just blows you away the first time you see it (and for quite a while after that, too). It’s big, heavy and not very fast to use, but it’s designed for a more thoughtful kind of photography. The GFX 100 (next on our list) doubles the resolution and adds faster AF and in-body stabilization…. at a price! Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm GFX 100S

How has Fujifilm made a medium format this good, at this price?

  • Sensor: Medium format
  • Megapixels: 102MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm G
  • LCD: 3.2-inch 2-axis touchscreen, 2.36 million dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 3.69 million dots
  • Max continuous shooting speed: 5fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K at 30fps
  • User level: Professional

While the world swooned at 6K and 8K video shooting, Fujifilm is forging a new path into affordable medium format photography, and the resolution, features and even price of the GFX 100S are truly spectacular. Thanks to a more compact body without sacrificing sensor resolution or image stabilization in the body, the new Fujifilm GFX 100S has even more assets than the original GFX 100, and is much more accessible and suitable for broader applications than traditional medium format cameras.

What’s even more impressive is that all the compromises Fujifilm had to make to produce the GFX 100S didn’t detract from the camera’s performance – it really is just as groundbreaking as the older GFX 100, but for not much more than half the price. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-T20

A great all-rounder at an attractive price

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.3MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 2,360k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2,360k dots
  • Max burst speed: 11/14fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Enthusiast

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a brilliant artist with the same X-Trans CMOS image sensor of the new generation as the powerful X-T2 (at number six in this list) and many of its other leading attractions but at an affordable price. It features the same excellent electronic viewfinder in high resolution as the more expensive camera while being beaten with a touchscreen.

Construction and use are quite similar in both cameras; the X-T20 is slightly more compact and lighter, although the weather seals and dual memory card slots of his brother or sister are missing, as well as some extra buttons and buttons. Overall, this camera is our choice for one of the best Fujifilm cameras, giving you excellent performance at a competitive price.

Fujifilm X-H1

This is as good as it gets for an X-series camera

best fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.3MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,040k dots
  • Viewfinder: Electronic, 3,690k dots
  • Max burst speed: 11/14fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Professional

In the core, the high-quality Fujifilm X-H1 has the same image sensor and processor as the X-T2 (number six), so there is no shortage of image quality or all-around performance. You get the same maximum continuous speed of 11 fps, which rises to 14 fps if you use the electronic instead of the mechanical shutter.

Famous extra attractions include sensor-shift image stabilization – it is the first Fujifilm X-series housing – plus a secondary status LCD on the top panel. There is also an electronic viewfinder with ultra-high resolution, which is particularly easy on the eye and a tilting touch screen on the back. It is more significant than other X-series bodies, but it is undeniable that it is the new king of the range. If you have more money, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras you can get.

Fujifilm X-Pro2

A fantastic compact-style Fujifilm camera with interchangeable lenses

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.3MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,620k dots
  • Viewfinder: Optical + 2,360k-dot EVF
  • Max burst speed: 8fps
  • Max video resolution: 1080p
  • User level: Enthusiast/Professional

The X-Pro1 was Fujifilm’s first X-series camera with interchangeable lenses and caused quite a stir. In terms of building advanced features and high-end performance in a relatively small, compact style, it squeezed a quarter of a gallon into a pint pot, but the updated X-Pro2 is better in all ways. Based on a next-generation image sensor and processor, it has a new hybrid viewfinder that offers both high-resolution optical and electronic displays.

Together with a faster mechanical shutter speed of 1/8000 sec, additional film simulation modes, and a much better hybrid phase/contrast-detection AF -system. For a compact camera with the advantage of interchangeable lenses, it is one of the best Fujifilm cameras right now.

Fujifilm X-A5

X-series attractions in a very compact build with a fair price

best fujifilm cameras
  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.2MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,040k dots
  • Viewfinder: No
  • Max burst speed: 6fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Beginner

A thing of beauty, the Fujifilm X-A5, has a beautiful retro design with some artistic touches, such as the 180-degree tiltable touch screen and Portrait Enhancer for selfies, as well as an advanced autofocus mode that finds the eye of the subject. As we are used to in X-series cameras, there is a 4K movie recording, but a frame rate of 15 fps somewhat paralyzes it.

The number of megapixels for photos is pretty impressive at 24.2 MP, but by the compact, lightweight design, there is no viewfinder, so you have to rely on the LCD screen to compose shots. With more endurance than several other X-series cameras, it has a battery life of about 450 shots. Such specs make it one of the best Fujifilm cameras on the market.

Fujifilm X-T100

Relatively compact and lightweight but feature-rich

  • Type: Mirrorless
  • Sensor: APS-C
  • Megapixels: 24.2MP
  • Lens mount: Fujifilm X
  • Screen: 3in tilting touchscreen, 1,040k dots
  • Viewfinder: EVF, 2,360k dots
  • Max burst speed: 6fps
  • Max video resolution: 4K
  • User level: Intermediate

The Fujifilm X-T100 bridges the gap between the X-A5 (number four) and X-T20 (number one) and is a recent addition to Fujifilm’s line-up of X-series cameras. It is compact, lightweight, and easy to use but has an electronic viewfinder with high resolution and a tiltable touch screen – and all for a very attractive price. The tiltable touch screen even has a wider range of motion than most other X-series cameras.

As with the X-A5, 4K video recording is limited to 15 fps, but this works well for producing a burst of 4K photos with a relatively fast, effective driving speed. In combination with the dull little Fujinon XC 15-45 mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens, this is a high-quality camera kit that is a perfect travel companion, whether you are walking into the hills or flying to the other side of the road. Overall, this is one of the best Fujifilm cameras to buy right now.
