Non-genuine Windows

MCT to the rescue

This is a manual and sure method to get the 1511 update and fix most Windows Update related issues just in case all else fails. MCT can also be used to upgrade to Windows 10, as we showed before. Let’s start.

Step 1: Download the Media Creation Tool here.

Step 2: Open it and select Upgrade this PC now. This downloads only the update files needed for 1511.

Upgrade the PC

Step 3: It starts with downloading the necessary files. When it’s done, select Keep old files Programs and hit Next. Your PC will reboot a few times. To check if you have the latest build, press Windows key + R, type winver and hit Enter.
