Step 1: Enable the EPEL repository
As the PostgreSQL YUM repository depends on the EPEL repository for some packages. We need to install EPEL repo RPM along with PGDG repo RPMs to satisfy dependencies on our Amazon Linux 2 Server.
Run the command below to activate the EPEL repository on the Amazon Linux 2 server:

Step 2: Install PostgreSQL 13 on Amazon Linux 2
Below are the minimum requirements for installation in the production configuration.
Run the following commands to ensure the PGDG repository is added to your Amazon Linux 2 server.
Once the repository has been added, run the necessary commands to install PostgreSQL 13 on Amazon Linux 2:
Check that the correct PostgreSQL software versions are being installed.
Step 3: Initialize and Start the Database Service
You need to generate the initial database settings file before starting the service.
