How to Join the Windows Insider Program – Guide

It used to be a huge hassle to become a Window Insider, reserved only for Microsoft’s biggest fans and most dedicated developers. But while we wait for the first beta versions of Windows 11 to be released, it’s a much easier process. If you were curious to become a Windows Insider to try out Windows 11, look no further. The Insider Program is a community of Microsoft enthusiasts, programmers, and IT administrators who want the latest version (or build) of Windows with updates and features. Participation in the program is free and the number of new builds you get depends on the channel you choose.

Insider builds are not as stable as the released versions of Windows that are made available to the public. As a precaution, it is best to run new builds on a secondary computer or in a virtual machine (VM). Don’t run Insider builds on your primary production machine unless you know what you’re doing and what to expect.

This channel gives you faster access to the latest features, apps and services than other channels. You’ll get builds into the development cycle as quickly as possible. This channel is recommended for very technical users and will likely contain more bugs and stability issues.
