Let’s show you how to do this by assigning shortcuts and abbreviations to your favorite websites. Using keywords and tags in Firefox

I have Guiding Tech on my bookmarks bar. So I right-clicked on it to open the Properties window. You can also start it by following the bookmark tool.

Whenever I need to open the website for Guiding Tech, I type GT in my address bar and hit Enter.

Using bookmark names in Chrome

Again, there are multiple ways to edit a bookmark, but I prefer to right-click and choose Edit.

In the window that comes up, give your bookmark a short name, for example GT and keep it.

The next time you want to open that website, type its name in the address bar and the suggestion list will show the required option. You can just type and hit enter.

Shortcut extension for Chrome

The above two methods are good, but require a bookmark base to work on. The Chrome Shortcuts Extension makes it easier. Install it and customize the keys as a personal choice.

To add a new shortcut, you must type followed by space or tabThis will take you to shortcut mode. Type now + website URL shortcut name as in the picture below.

To delete a shortcut to shortcut mode, type –Shortcut NameYou will receive a desktop notification for each addition and removal.

To change settings, follow Tools-> Extensions-> Options. Excitingly, you can open it by typing a nonexistent shortcut. Allows you to control the behavior of Desktop notifications and unknown shortcutAdding new shortcuts or removing existing ones is also possible.
