Guide: How to Use Mes­sen­ger Stick­ers in WhatsApp

WhatsApp recently launched stickers and the world has gone crazy ever since. Come on! Who doesn’t like stickers? They are so much better at expressing emotions. I wonder why WhatsApp was so late with the game.

One of the best things about the sticker feature is that you can install third-party stickers or even make your own sticker pack.

Earlier we showed how to use Telegram stickers on WhatsApp. In this post, we decided to explore Facebook and Facebook Messenger stickers and bring them to WhatsApp.

Let’s start! While the method is simple, it takes a bit. That’s why we’ve divided this post into two parts.

Note: The method only works on Android devices.

Download Messenger stickers

Step 1: On your Android phone, use a file explorer app to navigate to the Android folder under phone storage or internal memory, as displayed by your file explorer app.

Note: I am using Solid Explorer for this post.

Step 2: Tap the data folder.

Step 3: Scroll down and tap on the com.facebook.orca folder. This is the Facebook Messenger folder. If you want Facebook stickers, tap the com.facebook.katana folder. The rest of the steps remain the same.

Step 4: Tap files followed by stickers.

Step 5: Here you will find a folder for each sticker pack installed on Facebook or Messenger. Tap the folder to find the sticker pack whose stickers you want to use in WhatsApp.

Step 6: Now comes the annoying part. Each folder contains subfolders with one sticker each. Select and copy the sticker you want to use. Go back and create a folder with any name in internal memory or phone storage and stick the sticker there. With the same steps, you have to copy each sticker individually to the new folder.

Alternative method to step 6

Instead of copying each sticker individually, you can follow this method to save time. The sticker images are hidden in your gallery by default. We make them visible and use the gallery app to move all files to a new folder.

Don’t get confused. Here are the steps.

Step 1: Copy the entire sticker folder from the current location to a new location in the internal storage /phone memory.

Step 2: Open the gallery app on your device. You will see the Facebook stickers are now visible in your gallery. Select and move / cut all stickers. Then paste them into the new folder you created in the previous step.

Import stickers into WhatsApp

Once you have all the stickers in the new folder you want on WhatsApp, follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the personal stickers app from the Play Store on your Android device.

Step 2: Open the app. Here you will find a number of image maps. Find the folder you created above and tap the Add option next to their name. You get a popup to ask for your confirmation. Tap Add.

Note: You must have at least three images in the folder.

Step 3: Open WhatsApp and go to the sticker screen. You can find the newly installed sticker pack here. You can add more stickers to this folder at any time.

Bonus Tip: Make a sticker of each image

Why limit yourself to Facebook when you can turn any image into a sticker. You can have your own personalized stickers for your selfies, photos of your friends, any photo you like on the web and even a quote.

It’s pretty easy and here are the steps.

Step 1: Download Sticker Studio app on your device.

Step 2: Open the app and tap the plus icon in the bottom right corner. You will be presented with two options: Take Photo and Select Photo. If you want to make a sticker from an old image, tap Select photo.

Step 3: You will be taken to your gallery. Select the image here.

Step 4: With your finger, select the part you want as a sticker.

You can also tap the three-dot icon at the top and choose from predefined shapes. Then tap the check mark at the top to confirm.

Step 5: Here, tap the plus icon at the bottom and select the appropriate option. You can also write and draw on your stickers.

Step 6: Tap the check mark at the top to confirm.

Step 7: When you create a new sticker pack, you will be prompted to name it. Give it a name.

Step 8: Finally, tap the WhatsApp icon in the top bar to add the sticker pack to WhatsApp.

Note: You must have at least three stickers in a pack to add it to WhatsApp.

Step 9: Open WhatsApp. You will find the new sticker pack under stickers.
