Voice messaging is an option for voice calls or instant messages.  Much like instant messaging, voice messages arrive in a fraction of a second via voicemail.  Beneficiaries can reach them using a cell phone phone.

These short audio clips, traded by message strings, regardless of whether they are iMessage, Android Messages, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, or Instagram, are exceptionally close as they convey your tone better, which is often difficult to achieve through a text message.  or when trying to zero out a larger number of an assignment.

This communication channel has gained notoriety among 20-30 year olds and many different users as it is fast, advantageous and simple to use - especially assuming you prefer to send a long message but can't be tempted to type.  Plus, it helps you articulate your thoughts, is more reliable than going to Siri, and it's an amazing method of communication when multitasking.

## Sending audio messages with your iPhone

When you're texting from your iPhone, sending an audio message is as easy as tapping the phone. button.  That is, as long as you text someone who also has an iPhone.

It's a little more complicated if your friend has an Android.  first here how to send an audio message from one iPhone to another:

Open up a conversation and tap the record icon to the right of the text box.

Record your message and be sure to keep your finger at the bottom at all times.  When finished, release your finger.

If you want to hear your recording, tap the piece button.  Hit the "X" button to delete your recording.  To send it, just click on the arrow pointing up.

Tap Messages and scroll down to Audio Messages.

Then tap Expire.  Here, you can change the default expiry time from two minutes to never.

If you have an iPhone and want to send an audio message to an Android user, open the Voice Memo app that comes built into each iPhone.

Write a memo and share that recording as an attachment.  Of course, you are not using the messaging app, but it has the same effect.

## Sending audio messages using an Android phone

When you have an Android phone, sending audio messages is not as easy as simply tapping the button.  You have three options.

### Use android messages

To send audio clips via the Google messaging app, just follow these easy steps.

In Settings, give Android messages permission to use your microphone.

Open up a conversation.

Press the green + sign to the left of your text box.

Tap the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen.

Then press and hold the button while you record your message.

### Use a voice recording app

Like iPhones, Androids come with standard voice recording apps.

On your home screen, navigate to the built-in Voice Recorder app.  Click Record, speak your message and send the audio clip to a friend.

If you don't want to do this every time, you can also try using the smartphone's built-in helper.

### Use Google Assistant

This is the easiest method ever.  First, say “Hi, Google” or “OK, Google”.  Then tell Google Assistant to send an audio message to the person you want to talk to.  After saying your contact's name, Google Assistant will start recording automatically.

However, make sure you have gathered your thoughts in advance - the assistant will stop your recording if you notice any long pauses.

Next, Google Assistant will ask if you're ready to send the recording.  Say “Yes” if you are ready or say “No” to cancel.  Just like Apple users, you have the option to hit Play button to listen or Cancel to start over.
