## How to Add Launchpad to Dock on MacBook - Guide

Launchpad is a quick and easy method of accessing programs installed on your Mac and is an integral part feature from the macOS desktop.  Here it is how to make the most of the feature.  Launchpad has been a desktop component of macOS for a few years now, providing the basic function of helping users quickly open the software they need.  It is similar to the Windows Start menu in that it just displays a large list of programs that the user can instantly launch effortlessly.  It's a simple tool, but it's not the only one doing the same task.  Anyone who wants to open an app can do so in several different ways.

Click on the Apple logo in the menu bar and select System Preferences.

Click Mission Control.

Click Hot Corners.

Select the dropdown in the corner of the active screen that you want to use to launch Launchpad.

Click Launchpad.

Click OK.

Drag the app to the Launchpad icon in the Dock and drop.

Open Launchpad to verify the app has been added.

If necessary, drag the app's icon to where you need it on Launchpad.

Open Launchpad.

Click and hold on the app you want to remove until the icons start to flicker.

Click on the X symbol that appears in the corner of the icon.

This will work most of the time, but there are some apps that you just can't remove from the list as the X symbol doesn't appear.  They usually consist of apps that have not been downloaded from the Mac App Store or have been pre-installed on the operating system.  In such cases, you will have to uninstall the app itself.
