## How to    auto mute on Zoom in desktop app

Download the Zoom app for Mac or Windows PC.

Open the app and log in.

Click the Settings icon (gear wheel).

In the left menu, click Audio.

Check “Mute microphone when joining a meeting”.

On the Audio tab, you can also enable Press and hold the spacebar to temporarily unmute.  That is, whenever you want to speak in the meeting, press the spacebar while speaking.  Releasing the spacebar will silence you again.

Download the Zoom iOS app on your iPhone or iPad.

Open the app and log in.

Tap Settings in the bottom menu.

Tap Meetings.
