## How to Block People on Tinder - Guide

THE feature prevents people you know from finding you on the dating app.  However, the feature doesn't work providing columns to fill with the numbers you want to block in the app.  Instead, the app now prompts users for their entire contact list and uses the contact information to block unwanted people.  According to a recent survey, Tinder found that 40% of respondents found an ex through a dating app.  Similarly, 24% of respondents saw a family member or colleague on the app.  However, if you prefer not to share your contacts with Tinder, the company has also provided a way to prevent anyone from seeing you on Tinder without importing contacts.  If you want to be on the safe side, you can block all contacts on Tinder.

Tap Unblock next to each blocked contact you want to unblock, or tap the menu icon at the top right and choose Unblock All.  Tap the three-dot vertical menu in the top right corner and choose “Select All Contacts” from the pop-up.up.up.  Then use the search box or select the phone number of people you prefer not to see on Tinder and tap the “[x] Block contacts” button.  Block Contacts lets you do just that. Share your device's contact list with Tinder, select a contact to block and we'll do our best to prevent you from seeing each other.

## Steps to Block Someone on Tinder

Open the Tinder app and switch to the Profile section on the bottom navigation bar.  On your profile page, tap the “Settings” icon.

Scroll down until you find the option titled "Block Contacts" and tap on it to proceed.

You will now see the option to import your contact list into Tinder.

Tap "Import Contacts" button to sync all your contacts.

Then use the search box or choose the phone number of people you prefer not to see on Tinder and tap the “Block [x] Contacts" button.

Now you will see all your blocked contacts in a separate section.  If you change your mind, you can tap Unlock button next to your name.

## Block all contacts on Tinder

If you want to play it safe, you can choose to block all contacts on Tinder.  Tap the three-dot vertical menu in the upper-right corner and choose “Select All Contacts” from the pop-up menu.up.

Tinder will automatically select all your contacts.

All you need to do now is press the “Block [x] Contacts" button to block everyone from your contact list on Tinder.

Now, no one from your contact list will find your profile on the dating app.

## Block someone on Tinder without sharing their contact list

If you don't feel comfortable allowing Tinder access to your contact list, there's also an option to manually block people from seeing you on the dating app.  See how:

When you are on the screen that asks you to import contacts, press the '+' button from the upper right corner.

Here, assign the name, phone number, additional phone number and email address of people you'd rather not find on Tinder and tap "Done".  That way, you don't have to let Tinder access your contact list.
