## How to Change the Time and Date on iPhone - Guide

Your iPhone is designed to automatically display the correct time.  It gets date and time information from your cellular provider and via GPS, so it should always know the correct local time zone and whether or not it is daylight saving time.  If your iPhone is showing the wrong time, make sure your settings are correct.  You can also change the time and date.  Scroll down and tap on “System Services” and make sure “Set time zone” is checked.  You can manually set your time zone by tapping this menu.

You can also choose 24 hours by moving the slider to on/green (this option is not available in all countries or regions).  This is very useful if you travel a lot or live in an area that uses daylight saving time (DST).  However, you can also manually adjust the date and time on an iOS device if you wish.  Maybe it's because the time is displayed incorrectly on your device (which it does, but rarely).  Or maybe you want to set the clock back a few minutes to stay on time.

## Change date and time on iPhone through settings

On your Home screen, open the Settings app.

Then go to general settings.  In the General menu you will find the basic but important information and tools for your iPhone.  One of them is the Date and Time.

Click on Date and Time and it will give you the options to change your time and date settings

In the date and time setting, you can choose to have the 24-hour format by tapping the button.  24-hour time displays your digital clock using military time (e.g. 21:00 means 21:00) by removing the “PM” or “AM” indicator after each hour.  You can always turn the feature off if you're not used to it.

The second set of options will allow you to change the time and date based on your preference.  Choosing the “Set Automatically” option will use the default date and time settings for your current location.  When iPhone finds out your time zone, it will change your time and date settings.  This is very useful for people going to or visiting different countries.  No need to worry about time zones.

On the other hand, turning off the “Set automatically” option will allow you to choose the semi-manual timezone.  It is treated as semi-manual because you just need to look up the location and it will once again give you the current time and date in your chosen country.

If you want to manually enter the date and time, click on the specified date and time and select the preferred date and time that will appear on your iPhone.

## Change the date and time on iPhone using Siri

Launch Siri by pressing and holding on your iPhone Home button.  You can also just say “Hey Siri” and Siri will be activated.  Just make sure the Lister for “Hey Siri” option is enabled in the Siri & Search option in Settings.

Ask Siri to go to Date & Time under General Settings.

Siri will open General Settings.

Proceed with steps 3 to 7 in the previous section to change the date and time on iPhone.
