Today, in this article, we show how to **check/clear YouTube watch history**.  Your video recommendations will be more accurate thanks to YouTube watch history feature.  By clearing or stopping your history, you have control over your viewing history.  While history is paused, videos you see will not appear in your history.  In addition, they will not be employed to improve your recommendations.

Every video you see on YouTube is recorded.  There are many advantages to doing this, including the ability to easily search, rewatch, and share a recent video by looking at its watch history.  Also, YouTube makes better suggestions for new videos you would like to watch using this historical data.  However, this function is entirely under your control.  You can completely clear your watch history or stop it so YouTube is not informed about the types of videos you watch.  Below are the steps to view and delete YouTube watch history.

### View and clear watch history on YouTube website

**Step 1:** I go to the **YouTube website** and click on YouTube **signal** inside button in the top right corner (if you're not already signed in to your YouTube account).

**Step 2:**click on the menu **YouTube menu button**    in the upper left corner of the screen.

**Step 3:**click on the**history selector** in the expanded menu that appears.

**Step 4:**If you want to clear your history, on the right side of the screen you will see a section with five options: watch history, search history, comments, community and live chat. **Select** one of the **radio buttons**and click on **option CLEAR ALL VIEWS HISTORY**.

**Step 1:**open the **youtube app**.

**Step 2:**if you are not **signed** now, touch the three **vertical dots** in the upper right corner of the screen.

**Step 3:**In the drop-down menu that appears, **select enter**and **choice** one account.

**Step 4:**Tap the three dots again, **select Settings**then History & Privacy to view the history.

**Step 5:**To clear the history, **select Clear watch history**.
