However, to use a restore point in the future, you must first create one.  And to create one, you first need to configure your PC for restore points.

If something goes wrong, you can use a restore point to undo the changes and restore your system to its last working state.  A restore point includes Windows system files, installed programs, registry settings, and system drivers.  Your personal files and folders are not supported up in the process.  Once configured, the Windows operating system automatically creates a new restore point before making any major changes to the system, such as installing or uninstalling a Windows update.  In this article, we will show you how to create a system restore point in Windows 11.

## How to    Create System Restore Point in Windows 11

To get started, press the Windows key or click the Start button, type: restore point and press Enter, or click on the top result of the search list.

This will open the System Properties window under the "System Protection" tab.  From there, click the Configure button button.

You can move the slider up or down in the following dialog window to adjust the amount of disk space used for restore points.  For example, if you have a disk with a lot of storage, you might want to add more.

On the other hand, you can reduce it if you have a small amount of storage.  Typically, the amount of space Windows allocates will be fine.

When finished, click OK.

Now that System Restore is enabled, it's time to create a restore point.  Click on the Create button button and follow the instructions on the screen.

First, enter a name that will help you identify the restore point.  For this example, I'm typing "Installing Office".

After creating a memorable name for the restore point, click on the Create button button.

While creating the restore point, you will see a progress bar.

When complete, you will see a message that the restore point was created successfully.
