When watching non-native shows like anime on Netflix, you can use subtitles to understand them better.  However, if you are having trouble reading subtitles due to text color, font, or any other reason, we have a solution.  You can customize the appearance of subtitles.  This legend representation changes for a specific profile.  So if you want to change the appearance of subtitles for all profiles, you must do so individually.  You can customize the font style and size and even add or remove drop shadows on the text.

Even if you happen to mess up up the appearance of subtitles, there is a reset to defaults button that will bring everything back to normal.  Now follow the step by step guide below to customize the subtitles on your Netflix profile. ## Customize Netflix subtitles for the best viewing experience

In this text, we will introduce how to customize Netflix subtitles.  You will learn how to change subtitle languages, font, font color, font size, subtitle background and more.

First, click on the profile icon, and from the drop-down menu, click on Account.

Here, under the “Profile and Parental Controls” part, click on the profile you want to customize the caption for.

Here, click on “Change” button after being able to view subtitles.

This is what Netflix's subtitle customization window looks like.  Any modifications you just made will be previewed in the preview window at the top.

To change the font, click the drop-down menu below "Font" and select the font you need.

Click on the color picker software marked in the image below to choose the subtitle color.  You can even click the checkbox next to “Semi-transparent” to effectively make the caption semi-transparent.

Netflix offers three totally different text size options for subtitles: Small, Medium and Large.  By default it is in the middle, select what you need.

Using the “Shadow” possibility, you can select to add a shadow to your subtitles.  I wish I didn't have any shadows in my subtitles.  You can check out the totally different shade options to see what you want.  You can even click on the color field, after being able to change the shadow color.

Also, Netflix allows you to customize the color of the subtitle field.  The default clear view is better for the optimal viewing experience because it hasn't received the content of the content.  But when you have a hard time studying subtitles, you can add a background to make it even more readable.

If you need the entire caption window to have a background, you should use the window color possibility to try this.  This is useless in my opinion, but you can try if you want.

To change the subtitle language, play the content material and click on the subtitle icon in the lower right corner.  Here, you will have the option to enable/disable subtitles along with totally different language options.
