# How to delete Known Networks on iOS

Today, in this article, we show you how to **delete known networks on iOS**.  Similar to most Wi-Fi enabled devices, the Apple iPhone is designed to remember your network settings so you don't have to enter your password every time you want to access the Internet.  Even though this is usually useful feature, occasionally causes problems.  It is preferable to make the iPhone completely forget about a Wi-Fi network, for example, if you unintentionally join one that you are not sure is secure.

You can always reconnect to a saved network later after uninstalling it.  If you frequently use your iOS device to travel, you are likely to connect to new Wi-Fi networks at airports, train stations, hotels, restaurants, pubs, and customer offices.  If you use your Mac, iPhone or iPad to connect to these networks, magically your devices will remember these networks and sync them through iCloud – so if you use iCloud Keychain your other Apple products will be able to access them too.  Below are the steps to remove known networks on iOS.

## Steps to Remove Known Networks on iOS

### Remove a network you are currently connected to

**Step 1** : If you are connected to a wireless network or are nearby that you want to remove from your iPhone, you can do so by first opening the **Definitions** app on iOS.

**step 2** : Within Settings, select **wifi**.

**step 3** : On the next screen, you will see the network you are connected to, as well as other known networks that are around you.  To remove a network from your iPhone, tap the icon **i icon** on your right side.

**step 4** : When the selected network is loaded on the next screen, tap **forget this network** on the top.

**Step 5** : At the prompt that appears, tap **Forget** to confirm the action.

**Step 6** : The selected network will now be **removed** your known network on the iPhone.

### Remove networks you've connected to in the past

**Step 1** : If your iPhone is no longer connected to a known network or you are far from your coverage area, it will not be immediately visible on **“my nets**” when you access them within your**wifi settings**.  To remove them, open the **Definitions** app on your iPhone.

**step 2** : Within Settings, select **wifi**.

**step 3** : Since you will not see saved networks that you are far away from, you can view them by tapping **To edit** at the top right corner.

**step 4** : Your iPhone will now ask you to approve using your passcode, **FaceID**or **TouchID**.

**Step 5** : After authenticating your action, you will see a list of networks that you have saved on your iPhone under “**known networks**”.

**Step 6** : To remove a network from this list, tap the **red minus (-) icon** on your left side.

**Step 7** : When you do, you will see a Delete option on the right.  tap on **Delete** to remove the selected network from your Known Networks.

**Step 8** : You may **repeat** this step to remove other networks from this list.

**Step 9** : On this screen, you can also remove a network in the same way as **method 1** touching the **i icon** on your right side.

**Step 10** : After deleting all the networks you want to remove, you can tap **Done** at the top right corner.

**Step 11** : You will now see a prompt asking you to confirm the removal.  tap on **To remove** to continue.

**Step 12** : The selected networks will now be **removed from your known networks**.
