## How to Delete Page in Word - Guide

Blank pages in a document can make an unprofessional impression on editors or potential employers. Microsoft Word is known for creating blank pages in a document. Before getting the shipment button, be sure to delete them whenever possible. Our goal is to help others avoid the frustration associated with blank pages. As Microsoft Word is a popular document creator, we have gathered the following guide to help you remove these unwanted pages in this particular word processor. If you also need to remove a page with text and graphics, our guide includes instructions for that as well.

This can be caused by extra page tables, pressing the ENTER key too many times, unnecessary section breaks, inadvertent page breaks, extra paragraph markers, and more. You don't want your Word document to look unprofessional because of this quirk, so in this article I will show you how to remove blank and extra pages in Word.

Blank pages in final, or even in between, of Word documents can look unprofessional – if, for example, you are sending your CV/resume to a potential employer – and waste time printing.

These pages can usually be deleted by selecting the empty space and pressing Backspace on the keyboard. But if that doesn't work, it's because Word has inserted a hidden paragraph on the page, which cannot be removed. Fortunately, there is a solution to this problem.

Scroll down to the blank page in the Word document or press Ctrl+End (Command+End on a Mac) to jump to the page if it is at the bottom.

Click the Show/Hide button ¶ button in the Word toolbar or press Ctrl+Shift+8 (Command+8 on a Mac) to show paragraph marks in the document.

Press Backspace to delete all paragraph marks from the blank page, and you will be left with the one that cannot be deleted.

Double-click to open the Word Formatting window. Select inside the Font Size box and type 01, to make the hidden paragraph as small as possible (1 point).

Press Enter and the hidden paragraph will be moved to the previous page of the document and the blank page will be removed. Press Backspace again if it doesn't automatically disappear.

## Deleting an unwanted page

The easiest way to remove an unwanted page from a Word document is to click on the final page and hold down the Backspace key until all content disappears. This method is quite tedious, though, and you run the risk of deleting the text from the previous page if you don't release the key in time. A much faster option is to delete the entire page at once using Word's Find and Replace tool. Just follow the steps below.

Click anywhere on the unwanted page and press Ctrl+G (Command+G on a Mac) to open the Find and Replace box.

Type page in the 'Enter page number' box and press Enter to highlight all content on that page, including text, graphics, and tables.

Click Close to exit Find and Replace and press the Delete button button on your keyboard. All page content and the page itself will now be excluded from the document.

## Delete Word Pages Printing to PDF

Another way to remove pages from a Word document is to convert the file to PDF format without the unwanted sections. This has the advantage of allowing you to retain the original document while creating a simplified version to share with others.

Click the File tab in Word and choose Print and select Microsoft Print as PDF from the Printer menu.

Click the Print All Pages menu in the Settings section and choose Custom Print.

Enter the page numbers you want to include in the PDF, separated by commas. If it is a long document, group the pages into sections, for example 1-5, 7-9, 11-15.

Click Print to save the file as a PDF that deletes unwanted pages. The original Word document will not be affected.
