## How to Disable Haptic feedback when Touching the Screen on Android - Guide

All new smartphones are equipped with haptic feedback. If you haven't tried it yet, haptic feedback is when you touch something on your phone and it responds by vibrating the entire device. On a Samsung Galaxy S, vibration can be overwhelming at times, so on this guide let's look how to turn it off, or at least lower the vibration strength by a notch. Haptic feedback, or “haptic” for short, is the physical action of using a touchscreen surface. The feedback part is typically a physical response based on the user's touch on the screen, most often a vibration. This is used to alert the user that the touch screen button was really pressed and to dispel any doubts otherwise.

Of course, we're talking about Android, so the process will vary depending on your specific model. That said, you should be able to easily follow along and find the necessary settings on your phone or tablet. From there, jump to the “Sound and Vibration” option. Tap on it. Scroll down to Vibration and Touch. Please note that this will be turned off when your phone is in sleep mode, which will also disable the haptic. Now just turn off the switch to “Use Vibration & Haptics”.

## How to Enable, Disable or Adjust Haptic Feedback on an Android Phone

Access the Settings app on your Android phone.

In some phones this can be accessed quickly using an external menu button. in all others phones there will be a Settings app in your App Drawer.

In the settings menu, tap Sound & Display.

Scroll halfway down the screen and tap Haptic Feedback.

A green checkmark means haptic feedback is on.

A gray checkmark means haptic feedback is disabled.

To toggle whether haptic feedback is on or off, simply tap it until the desired setting is active.

### Adjust the vibration intensity of the haptic feedback

Below tactile feedback button there must be another called vibration intensity. Tap Vibration Strength to adjust your Android phone's vibration strength.

### Select a vibration strength

A small dialog box will appear. Use the green slider to select the desired intensity.

Note that even if you slide the bar all the way down, there will still be a slight vibration.
