## How to Enable/Disable Screen Saver in Windows 11 - Guide

### First Method:

Enabling or disabling the screen saver is relatively easy in Windows 11. To enable or disable the screen saver, perform the following steps:-

Open the Settings app by pressing Windows + I keys on your keyboard.

In the settings window that opens, click on the Personalization category in the left pane.

In the right pane of Personalization, click on the lock screen.

Now, click on the Screen saver option.

After performing the above steps, the Screensaver Settings window will open.  Select the desired screensaver from the drop-down menu.

Then, if you want to customize the selected screensaver, click on the Settings button button next to your chosen screensaver.  If customization is possible on the selected screensaver, a new pop-upup window will open;  otherwise you will see "This screensaver has no options you can set".

Before applying the screensaver, click the Preview button button if you want to see a glimpse.  When a screensaver is being viewed, pressing any key on the keyboard will exit the view.

Then set the number of idle minutes to wait for Windows 11 before displaying the screen saver.  The default value is set to 1 minute, but allows you to change the wait time by clicking the button up and down arrow buttons or even you can select the value manually by typing between 1 and 9999.

Also, select the On resume, display logon screen check box.  When you are away from your PC, this feature will password protect your account.  After activating the screensaver, you will be prompted to enter your password or other login methods when trying to log into your account.

Finally, click Apply and then OK button.

Once this is done, when your PC has been idle for the specified time you set, the screensaver will automatically activate and protect your PC from unauthorized access.

### Second Method:

If you don't want to enable or disable the screensaver through the Settings app, click the Start button button on the taskbar or press the Windows + S hotkey to open the Search menu.  In the search box, type change screen saver.

Click on the Change Screen Saver option to open the Screen Saver Settings window.  Now repeat the steps above step 5 to configure the screen saver.

If you want to disable or turn off the screensaver on your Windows 11 computer, in the Screensaver Settings window, select (None) from the drop-down menu.  Then, uncheck the “On resume, display login screen” checkbox.

Finally, click Apply and then OK button.  Now the screensaver will not protect your computer.
