In the settings, you can specify what action Windows 11 should take for each device type.  These options include “Configure Storage Settings”, “Take no action”, “Open folders to view files”, and “Always ask”.  Unfortunately, autoplay has become annoying at best and risky at worst for some users. ### Enable or disable autoplay via settings

Firstly, open Settings via Windows hotkey + I.

Then click on Bluetooth and Devices and then click on AutoPlay present on the right.

From there, enable or disable the Use AutoPlay for all media and devices option.

If you enable AutoPlay, you can Choose AutoPlay defaults for any listed media and devices.

Now, you can close Settings.

### Enable or disable autoplay via the control panel

Firstly, open Control Panel and go to Hardware and Sound.

After that, tap on AutoPlay.

Then you can check or uncheck the box next to Use AutoPlay for all media and devices.

If you turn on AutoPlay, you can Choose a default for any media and devices listed.

Now, click on the Save tab and exit Control Panel.

### Enable or disable autoplay through Registry Editor

Firstly, open the Windows Registry.  To do this, type regedit in the Run dialog box.

After that, navigate to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAutoplayHandlers

To enable AutoPlay, right-click DisableAutoplay and change the value data to 1.

Or To disable AutoPlay, right-click DisableAutoplay and change the value data to 0.

Finally, restart the system to apply the changes.
