## How to Enter UEFI in Windows 11 - Guide

The BIOS (Basic Input / Output System) is the boot program used by a computer's microprocessor.  It controls the data flow between OS and connected devices like mouse, keyboard, SDD / HDD, etc.  The BIOS allows you to change your PC's various hardware settings /laptop.  For example, with a BIOS setting, you can change the boot device priority when installing a new operating system on your PC.  Likewise, some specific changes or settings, such as secure boot and TPM, can only be enabled through the BIOS.  So it's important to know how to open the BIOS on a Windows 11 PC.

Officially, there are two ways to enter the Windows 11 BIOS. You can boot into the BIOS by pressing an appropriate key at startup.  Or you can open the BIOS through Windows RE (Recovery Enviourement).  There are several ways to access Windows RE. The BIOS can be accessed without having to fiddle with too many settings.  Almost every PC or laptop have a button to access BIOS setup or pause the boot process.  This can be found right before Windows starts.  It is important to enter the BIOS quickly at startup.  This is because Windows boots up quickly on newer computers.

## Access UEFI / BIOS on Windows 11 using hotkeys

Samsung: Press the F2 key on the keyboard.

HP: Press the ESC or F10 key on the keyboard

Dell: F2 or F12 key on keyboard

Microsoft Surface: Press and hold Volume Up button

Toshiba: Press F2 key on keyboard

MSI: Press the Del key on your keyboard

ASUS: Press the F2 or Del key on your keyboard

Acer: press the F2 or Del key on the keyboard

Lenovo: Press the F1 or F2 key on your keyboard

## Enter BIOS in Windows 11 using the Settings application

First, press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.

Click System and then Recovery Options, which is located on the right side.

From the drop-down menu, you need to click Restart Now, which is located next to Advanced Startup.

Click Restart Now for confirmation again.

Now your Windows 11 PC will boot to a blue screen with a “Choose an option” window.

Here, choose the Troubleshoot option.

Finally, select Advanced Options and choose UEFI Firmware Settings and restart the computer again.

That's it, your Windows 11 computer will now enter UEFI mode or BIOS settings.
