You can transmit faxes online in a variety of ways and conveniently from a computer, mobile device, or tablet. Online fax services make it easy to send faxes from Gmail (or any other email server or client), Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, as well as from Windows and Mac computers and devices, send PDFs to fax, send faxes from Microsoft Word, and send faxes from your own business software.

The scanned document can be saved as a PDF or TIFF, but if you want an electronic copy that can be shared with others quickly, the former is preferable. ## Steps to Fax From Computer

Turn on the **computer**.

Plug the fax modem into the computer’s USB port. Then connect the phone line to the fax modem port.

Click on “**Windows Fax and Sca**n” and open it. The appropriate windows will open, as shown in the following snapshot

Click on the “**New Fax**” option located in the upper left corner of the screen, as shown in the following snapshot

When you click on “New Fax”, a “Fax Setup” popup menu will open asking you to select and specify a fax modem or server that you can use to send or receive the fax.

This will connect your system to the fax modem if you already have it connected. If not, you will see a warning that no modem is currently installed on your system. Once connected, click**OK to continue**.

Now enter the fax number of the recipient you want to send the fax to in the To text box. Below that, in the “**Subject**” text box, enter the subject of the fax you want to send.

It is now time to write and create the fax to be sent to the**recipient number**. Write the fax in the text field and click the Attach icon to attach a document (image, file, video, etc.).

**Click OK.**

When you have finally created and prepared the fax by attaching the document you want, click the Send button. The fax will be sent to the recipient number you specified.
