## How to Fix ‘Action Center Not Visible/Showing on Taskbar’ Issue in Windows 10 - Guide

The improved Action Center, or Notification Center, is one of the best features on Windows 10. It has all system and individual app notifications available in one place, so you don't have to worry about missing notifications. Also, you can dispense with them at will. As helpful as it is, sometimes the Action Center stops responding. In fact, this happened to me recently, and regardless of how many times I clicked the notification icon, the Action Center wouldn't open.

If you've ever run into a situation like this, here are some simple methods you can use to try and get the Action Center up and running again. In addition to the above issues, it seems that some users are complaining that Action Center is showing the same notification even after it has been deleted so many times. So, without wasting any time, let's see how to fix the Action Center problem that is not working on Windows 10 using the troubleshooter guide below.

## Enabling or Disabling System Icons

Often times, it may simply be a configuration issue, where the action center icon may have been disabled for some reason. It could be accidental or it could be due to some fault. All you need to do is simply activate the function in the Settings app. Let's see how.

Navigate to the beginning button (Windows icon) at the bottom left of the desktop and click the right mouse button to open the context menu. Select Settings from the menu.

In the Settings window, navigate to Personalization.

On the Personalization page, click the Taskbar option on the left, then on the right side of the window, click Turn system icons on or off.

In the next window, scroll down and find the action center. Slide the switch to the right to turn it on.

## Changing registry settings

Before making any changes in the registry editor, be sure to create a backup of the registry data so that in case, if data is lost, you can recover it.

Press the Win + R keys together on the keyboard to open the Run command.

In the Run Command search box, type regedit and press Enter to open Registry Editor.

In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the path below.

Now go to the right side of the panel and right click on an empty area. Select New from the right-click menu and select DWORD Value (32-bit) from the submenu.

Right-click the newly created DWORD (32-bit) value and select Rename from the shortcut menu.

Now rename the new DWORD value to Disable Notification Center.

Now double-click this new value to open the Edit DWORD Value dialog (32-bit). Go to the Value Data field and set it to 0.

Press the OK button button to save changes and exit.

## When re-registering the Action Center

It may also be possible that the Action Center is corrupted for some reason and needs to be re-registered. In that case, you would need to re-register the Action Center using Powershell. Let's see how.

Press Windows key + X together on the keyboard to open the context menu.

Select Windows Powershell (Admin) from the context menu to open Windows Powershell with administrator rights.

In the Windows Powershell (Admin) window, run the command below and press Enter.
