Call of Duty Warzone is undoubtedly one of the most popular games of the moment.  However, like other massive games, Warzone also has its fair share of bugs.  The most common error causes the game to get stuck on the “Checking for Updates” screen.  Fortunately, some workarounds for this error have been found.  Following the solutions mentioned in this article should help you to fix this error and enter the Warzone lobby with your squad.

Click on “Use the following DNS server addresses” and fill in the fields;  Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8 and for Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4 and press OK to save the changes.  Our next suggestion is to clear the cache.  Users have reported three possible cache folders worth deleting in the Battle.net and Blizzard Entertainment folders.

## Restart your internet connection

Disconnect your router

Reconnect your router and wait a few minutes

Check war zone

One of the most basic fixes for any internet instability is just unplugging your router, plugging it back in, waiting for it to boot up, and trying again.

## Scan and repair Warzone game files

Go to Battle.net

Log in and go to Warzone

Click 'Options' and then 'Scan and Repair'

Select 'Start Scan'

## Change your DNS settings

Open up 'Network and Internet Settings'.

Go to 'Change adapter options'.

Now clear the DNS cache.  On the keyboard, press the Windows logo key and type cmd.  Then select 'Run as administrator.

Launch Warzone and see if it's working now.

## Update your network driver

You need to update your network driver manually or automatically.

If Manually, visit your motherboard manufacturer's website and search for your model.  Network drivers can be found on the support or download page and only download the network driver compatible with your system.

If automatically, download Driver Easy.

Launch it and click 'Scan Now'.

Click 'Update All' to download the drivers.

Restart your PC and try Warzone again.

## Temporarily disable your firewall

Press 'Windows Logo' key and 'R' key at the same time

Type: control firewall.cpl in the box and click 'Ok'

Now select 'Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off'

Then click 'Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended)' for all three settings and click 'Ok'

Try Warzone again
