Before we get into the reasons for the “Firestick not detected” error, it helps if we understand how it works - at least on the surface.  The Firestick always comes with a cable that connects the Fire TV Stick's USB port to the TV's HDMI port.  The Firestick connects to the Internet via WiFi and is also equipped with a Bluetooth remote control.  Since these two main components, the HDMI cable along with an active WiFi connection, work together to connect your TV to the vast selection of online content you can access with your Firestick, the Firestick issue not being recognized and the issues associated with it can usually be reduced to one of these things.

### 1. Make sure your power gauge is static

If the power light is floating or stops during transmission, something is wrong with the power cord or power plug.  Make sure everything is ok with the power supply.

Check the power cord, plug and socket for damage.  If everything looks fine, plug the power cord into another outlet.

### 2. Check the HDMI cable

Sometimes the HDMI cable and ports deteriorate due to wear.  Make sure the HDMI cable is not defective and remains secure in the port.  Disconnect and reconnect the cable to see if you can solve the problem.

Wait at least 5-10 minutes and reconnect the power cord to the Amazon Fire TV stick and wait 5 minutes.

Turn on your TV set.

Reconnect the Fire TV stick with the HDMI port.

press any button on the Fire TV remote control.  Wait a few seconds after each entry.  It may take some time to execute the commands.

### 4. Make sure you select the correct resolution

Incorrect resolution can affect your streaming.  So make sure you select the correct resolution for your monitor.

tighten UP and REWIND buttons of the Fire Stick remote control.

Then select Use current resolution.
