If you use Instagram search with a friend or colleague, it's definitely a privacy threat as they would know about the users whose profile you've been chasing.

After all, search suggestions are displayed based on your search history.  Therefore, you might get annoyed by inappropriate suggestions.  And Instagram already has enough threats to worry about.  If you don't want this to happen, you can delete your Instagram search history and suggestions right now.  In that tutorial, let's show you how to do this on iOS and Android.  We've updated the steps and screenshots with the latest version of the Instagram app.  Here we use the Android app, but the steps are basically the same for the iPhone, with a few minor design changes that shouldn't be a problem if you're familiar with the steps below. ### restart your Phone

It may not seem relevant to your problem, but sometimes all you need to fix the error is restart your phone.  It might only take a few seconds, but it's probably all you need to fix the problem.

### Log out of Instagram

open instagram

Tap your profile icon in the lower right corner of the screen

Tap the three horizontal bars at the top

Choose the settings and scroll down to find the "Logout" option button

You can log into your account by entering your username and password.

### Clear Instagram cache

You can clear Instagram cache through File Manager.  You must clear the storage and clear the cache to fix this problem.  If none of the above steps work, then this is the best way to resolve the issue easily.

### Uninstall Instagram

Still, if your Instagram history doesn't clear, your last option is to uninstall Instagram and reinstall the app.  You can uninstall the app from Google Play Store and click “Install” to reinstall it on your device.  If you're using the iPhone, hold the Instagram app option for a brief moment until it starts to shake, then select the little “X” icon that appears at the top of the screen.  Here it is!  You can delete the app from there.

### Hide Profiles

There is a good chance that your search history will be cleared after following the above. tips, but if you still notice some profile icons appearing up in search history, your last resort is to hide these profiles from your search history.
