The DualSense is more than just a Duals hock 4 with a fancy design. It has a number of important new technologies that make it truly next-gen. The color has changed to a two-tone look like the [PS5](https://compsmag.com/reviews/ps5-review/), and the size has grown and been rounded off a bit (to, almost, Xbox-form). But the thumbstick are still in the same place, and the touch screen is still at the top. A lightbar is also back, but this time it is around the touch panel instead of on top. The PlayStation team also had to work hard to make the new controller’s rechargeable battery last longer. That’s probably one of the biggest problems with the Duals hock 4, so it’s great that it’s been fixed.

In our own tests, the DualSense worked for about 12 hours before it was completely dead. Games that used haptic feedback and adaptive triggers a lot were part of this group. The DualSense controller for the PS5 is the best one Sony has made in a long time. It’s comfortable, works well for both big and small hands, has a textured surface, and buttons that click and respond. It even has detailed haptic feedback and triggers whose resistance can change depending on the game you’re playing on the PS5. If you play [games](https://compsmag.com/best/games/) on a PC, you don’t have to use a [keyboard](https://compsmag.com/best/keyboards/) and [mouse](https://compsmag.com/best/best-mouse/).

Some [video games](https://compsmag.com/best/video-games/) make more sense when you use a controller, or maybe you just want to relax on the couch with your PC hooked up to a [TV](https://compsmag.com/best/tv/). A PS5 controller can be connected to a PC. Microsoft and PlayStation are competitors in the [gaming](https://compsmag.com/best/gaming-apps/) world, but the PS5 controller connects over Bluetooth, so it’s easy to use it with your PC. We have mentioned steps below to Fix PS5 Controller Not Working On PC.

## Ways to Fix PS5 Controller Not Working On PC

### Delete previous Bluetooth pairing and re-pair

1. **Press the Windows key + I** on your keyboard to open the **Settings** menu.
2. Select **Bluetooth** and **Devices**.
3. **Click** on Devices.
4. From there, check which of your Bluetooth devices is currently **connected** to your PC, click the three dots for that tile, and select Remove Device.
5. Once you’ve verified that no active Bluetooth device is still connected to your PC, click the **Add Device** **button** at the top.
6. **Click** Bluetooth.
7. Wait for the system to **start** **searching** for devices.
8. While the [Windows](https://compsmag.com/best/windows-apps/) PC is searching for Bluetooth devices, press the **PS button** and the Share button on your DualSense controller for 10-15 seconds. Wait until the blue lights in the center **start** flashing faster than usual.
9. Your PS5 controller should show up as a wireless controller. Select it to **connect** your PS5 DualSense controller.

### Try another USB cable

If you’re using a wired connection between your controller and PC, the next best thing you can do is **check** the physical connection. That means you need to make sure you have a **USB-C cable** that works. Use only the [USB-C cable](https://compsmag.com/best/usb-c-cables/) that came with the box if you can. If you don’t already have that, check that the replacement works well. If you have another PS5 controller, try **connecting** it to your PC with the USB-C cable to see if it will work.

If you have a different USB-C cable, try that and see if it lets you use your PS5 controller on your PC. Besides trying a different USB cable, you should also make sure that the USB port on your PC and the Dual Sense controller are both working properly. If you think the ports are dirty, you can use compressed air to clean them. Don’t put anything in the USB port because you might break it by accident.

### Check Steam Controller Settings

1. Open the **Steam** **app**.
2. **Go** to Settings.
3. **Select** Controller.
4. **Click** General Controller **Settings**.
5. Make sure that the PlayStation configuration **support** **option** is enabled.
6. **Connect** your **PS5** **controller** to your PC and check the problem.

### Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter

1. Press the **Windows key + I** on your keyboard to open the Settings menu.
2. Go to System.
3. **Select** Troubleshooting.
4. Click on Other **troubleshooting**.
5. **Click** the **Run** button for Bluetooth.

### Factory Reset Your DualSense Controller

1. **Turn** **off** your PS5. If you don’t have a second controller, press and hold the power button to force the [gaming console](https://compsmag.com/best/gaming-console/) off.
2. **Insert** a **SIM** **removal** tool or paper clip into the small hole on the back of the controller and press the reset button inside for 3-5 seconds.
3. **Turn** **on** your PS5 and re-register the controller to the console, either wirelessly (if you have another controller) or via USB.

## Reasons for PS5 Controller Not Working On PC

**Interference with Bluetooth Signals**: The most common problem is when multiple devices connect to our system via Bluetooth, which can cause the newly connected device to stop working. Also, the PS5 Controller can connect wirelessly, but other devices may block the signal. Check and turn off any other devices you don’t use often or at all.

**Low Battery on the Controller:** The level of the battery is another thing that can affect the PS5 Controller. First, use the USB port to fully charge the Controller and connect it again.

**Incompatible drivers:** Windows hardware needs the driver to connect to the system, but sometimes we install an incompatible version of the driver that doesn’t recognize the hardware. Go to the system properties and check the version of Windows. Then, install the right driver and see if the problem is fixed.

**Damage to the USB port or wire:** USB is one of the most useful parts of a [computer](https://compsmag.com/best/computers/), but sometimes the port can be broken in a way that makes it hard to connect a device. But we also have to take care of the wires that connect everything. So the problem is also caused by a broken wire and USB port.

## Final Words

Many people would say that using a mouse and keyboard is the best way to play games on a PC. The large number of keys on a keyboard does give you a lot of control options, but using a mouse is a much better way to play first-person games and simulation games. But controllers have their own benefits. They are easier to use and are made so that all the buttons and sticks are right where you need them. You can also use a controller with your PC. The Xbox Wireless Controller is often thought to be the best, but you can also connect the PS5 DualSense controller to your PC if you want to.
