Today in this article we are going to show you how to **Fix lost startup VR apps on Windows system.** Many mysteries are revealed by the player as they progress through Stray. But despite not being a VR game, Stray has occasionally started up alongside other VR apps - something the manufacturers didn't plan to happen. Fortunately, the solution to this “mystery” is quite simple.

Stray's engine folder contains information about OpenXR. While not intended for use in the release version, Stray may unintentionally cause the SteamVR or Oculus software to launch, depending on which you have installed. This issue was somewhat fixed by one of Stray's initial hotfixes after its debut, however, players continue to report that the game releases VR programs sporadically. Fortunately, there is a lasting solution. We have mentioned below the steps to fix Stray Launching VR Applications on Windows system.

## Steps to Fix Lost Boot VR Apps on Windows System

### Run the game as administrator

If you don't run your video game with administrator privileges, it may have problems loading, starting or even crashing during setup. So it's best to just launch the game's executable file as administrator on your Windows machine to see if that solves the problem. To do this:

**right click** at the **scattered** exe shortcut file on your PC.

Now select **properties** > Click on **Compatibility** tab.

click on the **Run this program as administrator** checkbox to select it.

click in **To apply** and select **OK** to save the changes.

### Check the integrity of game files

Checking and repairing game files with the help of game launcher can be quite beneficial if for some reason the game files end up up corrupted or missing. How to do it:

Throw **Steam** > Click on **Library**.

**right click** about **scattered** from the list of installed games.

Now click on **properties** > go to **local files**.

click in **Check the integrity of game files**.

You will have to wait for the process to complete.

After that, just restart your computer.

### Update GPU Drivers

The outdated graphics driver has apparently been reported by several affected players. If you are using an outdated graphics driver, check for updates by performing the actions listed below:

Press **Windows + X** keys to open the **quick links menu**.

Now click on **Device Manager** from the list > **double click** about **video adapters**.

**right click** on the dedicated graphics card that is active.

Then select **update driver** > Choose to **Automatically search for drivers**.

If an update is available, the system will download and install it automatically.

Once done, restart your computer to apply the changes.

### Install all pending Windows updates

The game may not work properly if some Windows crashes or system files collide in some way. Sometimes not updating the program for a while can also cause an incompatibility issue. Install all pending Windows updates and always use the latest OS version. Therefore:

Press **Windows + me** keys to open up The **Windows Settings** menu.

Next, click **Update and security** > select **Check for updates** under **windows update** section.

if there is a feature update available, select **download and install**.

Wait some time for the update to complete.

Finally, restart your PC to apply the changes immediately.

### Disable antivirus and firewall program

click on the **Start menu** > Type **Control Panel** and click on it.

Now type **firewall** in the search box > Click on **Windows Firewall**.

In the left pane, click **Turn Windows Firewall on or off**.

Select **Disable Windows Firewall** for the **Private, Domain, and Public Network Settings**.

go to the **Windows Settings > Privacy & Security**.

Now go to **Windows Security > Virus and threat protection**.

click in **manage settings** >So **to switch off** The **real-time protection** option.

Once done, make sure to restart your PC to apply the changes.

open the **Steam** customer and go to **Library**.

**right click** about **scattered** > select **properties**.

At the **Generally** section, click **Set boot options**.

Then copy and paste the following command line argument:

## Final Words
