## How to Fix ‘Unidentified Network Error’ Issue on Windows 11 PC - Guide

Windows OS users often face many minor and major issues.  One of the most notable issue that frequently occurs is unidentified Ethernet network in Windows 11. When encountering this issue in Windows 11, users are unable to access the internet despite having a working internet connection.  They are indicated with a yellow exclamation point on the network icon, which gives the message “No network access”.  Windows 11 has excellent troubleshooting features.  When trying to troubleshoot a Windows operating system issue, the first step should always be to use this built-in troubleshooter.

Since our current problem is related to the network adapter, let's launch the network adapter troubleshooter.  When you update your computer to Windows 10 or simply install your updates like Creators Update / Fall Creators Update Version 1709 / Anniversary Update, you will encounter many errors.  One such error in Windows 10 is Unidentified Network - No Internet Access.  This error is also common in Windows 7. If you are facing this error, you are not the only one.  Many Windows 10 and Windows 7 users are having trouble accessing the Internet due to the same issue.

## Turn off airplane mode

Press Windows key + A to open Action Center and click the Airplane mode icon to disable the feature.'

If this option is not available, press the Windows key and select Settings.

Go to the Network and Internet section.

Navigate to the Airplane Mode tab, find the Airplane Mode option and turn it off.

## Remove your antivirus software

Open the Settings app by clicking the Start icon and selecting it from the list.

Click on Applications Home menu under Settings.

The list of installed apps will appear in the right pane.  Select the antivirus program from the list and click the Uninstall button button.

After removing the antivirus, restart your PC and see if the issue is resolved.

## Update network card drivers

Press the Start icon, type device manager and select the app from the results.

Locate the Network adapters section, click it to expand it, right-click the network adapter and choose Update Driver from the menu.

Click the Automatically search for updated driver software option and wait while Windows 10 downloads the proper driver for your network adapter.

## Disable fast startup

Click the Start button, type power and sleep and select Power and sleep settings from the results.

When the Power Options window opens, click Choose which power buttons He does.

Now click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.

Uncheck Enable fast startup and click Save Changes.

After doing this, turn off your PC.  Wait 30 seconds and turn it on again.

## Change your DNS servers

Press Windows key + X and choose Network Connections from the menu.

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

Select the Use the following DNS server addresses option.  Enter 8.8.8.8 as the preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 as the alternate DNS server.  Click OK to save your changes.

## Restart your PC

Press the Start icon, click the Power button, and select Restart from the menu.

According to users, sometimes you can fix this issue by simply restarting your PC.  It seems that Windows 10 can sometimes contain your personal files and this can cause the unidentified network message to appear.
