## How to Hide Images in Google Pho­tos for PC and Mobile - Guide

A new Google Photos update now lets you archive and hide photos from the main feed, helping to organize and privatize your personal photos.  As 9to5Google discovered for the first time, all you have to do is hold the photo(s) and click on the “…” menu on the right to access the file option.  If you want to come back to these photos later, you'll find them in a separate folder in the left menu.

About that feature it's not as great as, say, implementing Instagram in a user profile, it's great if you share a library with your partner or family and don't want certain images to be visible only in the main feed.  You can also archive recurring photos, screenshots or anything else you don't want to see when browsing the gallery.  And let's not forget what it's really useful for: moving private photos that you don't want other people to see when you give them yours. phone to show them a photo. ### Use the locked folder in Google Photos on mobile

You must first define up the “Locked folder” to start using it.  To do this, open Google Photos, go to the “Library” tab in the bottom navigation bar and tap the “Utilities” section.

Once there, scroll down until you find the new “Locked Folder” option.  You will find the locked folder in the “Organize your library” section.

Now you must confirm the device screen lock to access the locked folder.  After successful authentication, you will gain access to the feature and can start moving your confidential files into this folder.

### How to    hide or show Google Photos on the desktop

Sign in to your Google Photos account https://www.google.com/photos/about/ using username and password.

At the Home screen, you will see all the images uploaded by you.  Now click on “Options” (three horizontal lines provided in the upper left corner).

Choose the fifth “Archive” option at the top.  This option allows you to create a hidden album in Google Photos.

On the Archive page, click "Add Photos" in the upper right corner.  Then select the photos you want to archive.  After selection, click on “Done” in the upper right corner.

Now your selected photos have been archived, if you want to see the hidden photos on Google Photos that you just hidden, you can click the “Archive” option (as shown in the screenshot in step three) to see them all here.  If you want to archive more photos, click on “Add Photos” in the upper right corner.

If you want to unhide these photos, you can select the photos you need and then click the three dot icon in the upper right corner to select “Unarchive” from the drop-down menu.  So, your photos will be on the home your Google Photos screen.

You can also create a hidden album in the Google Photos app on your mobile devices with the following steps: 1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.2.  Log into your Google account.3.  Select a photo and tap "Menu" button (three dot icon in the upper left corner)> “File” .4.  After archiving, you can click “Archive” to view your hidden photos here.5.  To unarchive your photos, select them and click the three dot icon in the upper right corner to select “Unarchive” from the drop-down menu.
