Google Docs is one of the leading word processing apps for personal and collaborative use. Like most other word processors, Google Docs has a robust set of text editing tools. While it's great to have those features, Google Docs clearly sets itself apart from other free competitors in its real-time editing and collaboration capabilities. Once a document is shared, it can be accessed by more than 100 users at the same time. The outline is populated based on your edits—for example, if you add a caption to a main heading, it will automatically appear in your document's outline.  Google Docs also has surprisingly functional apps for iOS and Android devices.  They come with a lot features that are available on desktops and laptops, although some are conspicuously absent.

For example, you cannot enter special characters in a mobile device, then you will have to copy and paste them into the app or find another solution.  However, on the downside, Google Docs struggles with file conversions and converted Microsoft Word documents may lose formatting.  Also, Google Docs doesn't have the same range of features and features such as Microsoft Word.

## How to    Add alt text in a Google Docs file

To add alt text to an object in a Docs file, open a file that already has an object, or add one if you are opening a new document.

You can add an object by clicking the Insert tab at the top and choosing what you want to add.

Once the object is added, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Y for Windows users and Cmd + Option + Y for Mac users. You can also right-click the object and click the text alternative.
