## How to Insert Microsoft Planner Tasks to Outlook Calendar Automatically - Guide

To-do list software can be a real productivity booster, but there's always the risk that it's just another list. Use Microsoft Planner to automatically add tasks to your calendar so you know when due dates are approaching. We've discussed the basics of Microsoft Planner before, but as a quick catch up, Planner is a to-do app that comes with Office 365 (o365). It's available to anyone with a paid subscription to O365, whether it's a personal subscription that you pay for yourself or a commercial license that your company pays for.

With Planner, you can add tasks from a plan to a calendar by creating a publish link. This allows anyone with the link to import it into their calendar. This is great feature to the team planner, where everyone can see when tasks need to be completed. However, you don't need to share this link with anyone (and it's an incredibly long link that no one can accidentally guess or discover), so your Planner data is completely safe.

## Create a Microsoft Link Planner

To create a post link, go to the Microsoft Planner website and enter your O365 account details.

From the menu on the left, select the plan you want to add to your calendar.

Click on the three dots next to the “Schedule” option and select “Add plan to Outlook calendar”.

In the panel that opens, click on the “Publish” option.

At this point, you have two distinct options. You can add the scheduler tasks to your Outlook calendar by clicking "Add to Outlook" or you can copy the "iCalendar link" and import the scheduler task into any calendar software you like.

## Add the planner to your Outlook calendar

If you click “Add to Outlook”, your Outlook calendar will open and display the iCalendar subscription for you to confirm.

Change the display name of the calendar and click "Save".

The planner calendar will appear in the "Other calendars" section. Calendar tasks will appear on the task's due date.

Updating and retrieving tasks in a published calendar can take some time. So don't worry if they don't show up up immediately.

## Share the planner with another calendar

If you want to add the scheduler tasks to another calendar (yours or someone else's), select the entire iCalendar link and copy it using CTRL+C on Windows or CMD+C on Mac.

Now you can share it with someone else or add it to your own calendar. If you do not know how to add iCalendar link to your calendar, it's very easy if you are using Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or want to add it to another Outlook calendar.

## Stop sharing your planner calendar

If you want to stop sharing your Microsoft Planner tasks, click the three dots next to the "Schedule" option in the app and select "Add plan to Outlook calendar" again.

Select the “Unpublish” option.

This will remove the link, which will prevent anyone using the link from receiving updates.
