## How to Install Windows on Chromebook - Guide

Chromebooks are easy to use, portable and often inexpensive.  They are fantastic PCs, and application availability has improved enough that another computer operating system is not essential for many.  However, there is no doubt that Windows offers benefits, particularly in terms of program availability.  Unfortunately, many games and apps have yet to be released on Chrome OS. ## How to    install Windows on Chromebook laptops

Requirements:

The Chromebook you want to install Windows on.

A secondary Windows computer.

USB flash drive.

A USB keyboard and mouse

Preparing the Chromebook:

Turn off your Chromebook.

Open the back and remove the write-protect screw.  It's different on every Chromebook, so do some research to find out where you can find it.

Press Esc + Refresh + Power to enter recovery mode.

Press Ctrl + D and then press Enter to turn on Developer Mode.

Press Ctrl + D to boot Chrome OS.

Press Ctrl + Alt + T to open up a terminal.

Type "shell" and press Enter.

Paste this: cd~;  curl -L -O https://mrchromebox.tech/uefi-flash.sh && sudo bash uefi-flash.sh

Press Enter.

Select Full coreboot Firmware from the options.

Enter Y to confirm.

Enter U to install UEFI firmware

Download Windows to Chromebook Devices Using a USB Flash Drive:

Open a browser on your Windows computer.

Go to the Microsoft website to download the installation software for your Chromebook Windows 10.

Insert the USB flash drive.

Open the file you downloaded and click Accept.

Select Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO file) for another PC.

Choose the next one.

Choose Use recommended options for this PC and press Next.

Choose the USB flash drive and click Next.

Wait for the process to complete and click Finish.

How to    install Windows on Chromebook laptop using a USB flash drive:

Take the Chrome OS Windows USB flash drive and insert it into your Chromebook.

Your Chromebook can boot directly from the USB device.  Otherwise, press Esc as soon as the Chromebook starts up.  Find your USB device and select it.

Connect your USB keyboard and mouse to the Chromebook.

Select the correct language and region and click Next.

Click Install Now.

When asked for a product key, select I don't have a product key.

Select the version of Windows you want to install.  Preferably Windows 10 Home or Pro.

Select Custom: Install Windows Only (Advanced).

Delete all listed partitions, ignore the warnings and click Next.

Let Windows install and restart.

Remove the USB drive if prompted.

To define up Windows and skip connecting to a network.
