## How to Link a Phone to Windows 10 PC With “Your Phone” App - Guide

At its fall event, Microsoft not only unveiled new Surface computers, but also announced the availability of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. What was the most important news? feature in this release?  Your Phone app, which allows easy sharing between a smartphone and your PC.  Drag and drop photos from a phone to a window on your PC.  Or submit web pages from a phone to the PC, where they open instantly or can be saved to Action Center for later use.  You can also view your PC's timeline on phonealthough that feature is still marked as beta - as it is the coolest feature above all, Screen Mirroring, which allows you to view and interact with your smartphone's screen on PC.

However, if you have an Android phoneyou can now receive notifications from phone apps on your Phone app on PC, Microsoft announced this week.  Microsoft would like to offer the same functionality on iPhones, but Apple keeps a close watch on its ecosystem.  Android is much more customizable than iOS and even lets you set a different launcher home screen for your phone.  With your PhoneMicrosoft takes advantage of this openness to create an impressive link between the mobile and desktop worlds.

## How to    link any Phone for a Windows 10 PC with “Your Phone" Application

### To define up your Phone application on your computer

Go to Microsoft Store, search for Your Phone and download it.

Your Phone will launch on your PC and ask you to specify your mobile ONLY.  Select “Android” and click “Continue”.

You will be presented with a QR code to scan on your phone.  Now it's time to define up the link for windows feature on your Galaxy smartphone.

### To define up Link to Windows on your Galaxy smartphone

Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal its quick panel and tap “Link to Windows”.  You can also access the feature opening Settings, tapping “Connections” or “Advanced features” and navigating to where it says “Link to Windows”.  For other Samsung smartphones that are not feature Link to Windows, you can download and install Your Phone Google Play companion app.

Enable Link to Windows and tap “Add computer”.

Now, click on “Is there a QR code on your PC?”  Now you can scan the QR code with your phone.  Or you can choose to sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.  This will link your devices.  Click on the prompts to allow the connection.

You will see the Link to Windows settings open up on your smartphone, indicating that you are connected to your PC.
