## How to Make Chat Fold­ers in Telegram - Guide

Telegram introduced voice chats in March 2020 and I was very excited about it.  Chat folders help us categorize all of our chats.  For example, if you've joined news channels, anime groups, and college friends groups, you'll see all these chats in one place, which confuses everything.

Without chat folders, it's hard to find the chat you want to share something with.  In this scenario, chat folders are very useful.  You can categorize your chats into different chat folders, for example, anime chats in Anime folder, school groups in Personal folder, and the like.

### How to    create chat folders on Telegram

Open Telegram, tap the account settings tab.  Then select the option “Chat Folders” in iOS version, or just “Folders” in Android.

Then click on “Create New Folder”.  On the next page, you'll create a name for the folder, include the chats you want as well as the conversations you want to ignore.  This last option will not allow ignored chats to appear.

Then just click “Create” and the folder will be available as a tab at the top of chats.

### How to    manage chat folders on Telegram

#### Add chats to folder

Contacts: Chat with anyone you've saved to your account as a contact.

Not Contacts: Your chats with people you haven't saved as contacts, such as those you know through channels.

Groups: Any chat with three or more people.  Not to be confused with Telegram channels.

Channels: One-to-many broadcast groups.  Typically, these are the channels you've joined (unless you have one).

Bots: Message threads with non-human Telegram bots.

When finished, click Done.  You'll see what you've selected under Included Chats.

#### Delete chats from a folder

Silenced: Use to exclude channels where you have disabled notifications.

Read: Enable to show only channels that have unread messages.

Archived: Hides archived chats.  Archiving a chat hides it from your account, but it will appear again when a new message arrives.
