## How to move Photos and Videos from Facebook to Google Photos - Guide

Many users use Facebook and upload photos or videos on this social media platform.  Sometimes you lose the original photos you uploaded online and want to keep them in your smartphone gallery.  The good thing is that you have the option to download everything.  Facebook has a feature which allows you to transfer all your photos and videos to other platforms such as Google Photos.  This makes it easy to download your personal photos from popular platforms like Facebook.

With the social media app, you can use the Transfer a Copy of Your Data tool to transfer a copy of your data to another service.  You can transfer your photos, videos, posts, events and notes.

## How to    transfer photos and videos from Facebook to Google Photos

Open Facebook on your computer or application.

Click on 'Settings' and go to 'Your Facebook Info'.

Now click on 'Transfer a copy of your photos or videos'.

Then click 'Choose destination' and click 'Google Photos'.

You can transfer photos or videos at once.  If you want to transfer photos and videos, you will have to do this twice.

Select 'Photos' or 'Videos' and click 'Next'.

Now log into your Google account.

Facebook will ask permission to 'Add to your Google Photos library'.

Click 'Allow' to proceed.

Now click on 'Confirm Transfer'.

Your Facebook photos will be transferred to Google Photos and you can access them through the Photos app or website.  The transfer will take some time depending on the photos you have.  The transfer will show as “Pending” in the Activity section until it starts, then “In progress” while the photos are transferred.  Once the process is complete, you will receive an email from Facebook notifying you.
