## How to Record 60fps Video on iPhone - Guide

The term FPS stands for “frames per second” and is also called “frame rate”, referring to the recording and playback speed when talking about video.  As far as shooting is concerned, the frames per second measurement is how many frames, or images, are captured in one second.  With a higher fps count, you get more natural playback, which is usually between 30fps and 60fps.  In fact, shooting at a high frame rate and then playing it back at a significantly slower frame rate is how slow motion video works.

First introduced in the Galaxy S9 series, this features offers the option to record super slow motion videos, which are recorded at 960 frames per second.  960 fps is four times faster than slow motion videos on the previous Galaxy phones, which are shot at 240 fps.  By default, the iPhone records video at 30 FPS, but newer iPhone models support smooth and silky 60 FPS (frames per second) video recording at a full resolution of 1080p.

This optional high frame rate video capture mode must be enabled on iPhone Camera settings before finding it available when recording video with the Camera application however.  Enabling 60 FPS video recording on iPhone requires an iPhone 6 or higher with a modern version of iOS.  Earlier iPhones and earlier iOS versions do not support 60 FPS video capture.

## How to    Enable 60 FPS Video Recording on iPhone

Open the Settings app on iPhone and go to “Photos & Camera" section.

Underneath "Camera”, find “Record video at 60 FPS” and toggle the switch to the ON position.

Exit Settings and open Camera app, go to "Video" and you'll find the '60 FPS' badge in the corner, indicating that higher frame rate is on.
