## How to Remove Backgrounds Color in Paint 3D - Guide

Microsoft claims that 3D Paint is more refined than its exclusive Paint and that's asserted by all accounts as there are a lot of new things we can do with this free tool. I've tried to confine an object to a plain background with Paint, but that doesn't satisfy the vast majority of assumptions. However, with 3D Paint, we can clean up the background and make the image more direct instead of the white background.

It's not as good as Photoshop and GIMP offer, however it might be enough for general purposes. To follow this guide, make sure Paint 3D has been installed on your Windows 10 machine.

## Remove white backgrounds from images in Paint 3D

Open Paint 3D by typing "Paint 3D" in the Start menu.

Open the image you want to use by selecting Open and then Browse files in the welcome screen. Use the File Browser to find the correct file you want to edit. Alternatively, you can right-click the file and select edit with Paint 3D if you already know where the file is.

Select the Magic Selection tool, illustrated here.

Paint 3D will begin to guide you through the process. Crop the image as shown here to remove unnecessary areas.

Click next. A green border will appear around the image Paint 3D thinks you want to crop.

You can zoom in with the mouse scroll wheel. You can remove or add additional parts of the image using the tools on the right side bar.

When you click Done, the image crop will appear as a separate object that you can move.

Next, you want to remove the background from the screen. Go to the screen and select the Show Screen option to hide it. The background will turn gray.

Now you want to save your image as a transparent image. Go to Menu in the top left corner and click Save.

You should select PNG as your image type as this is an image format that can detect transparency. Also select Toggle Transparency in the box as shown here.

If you want to remove additional space around the image, select Adjust angle and framing on top.

Now you can select an image size aspect ratio, zoom and reposition your image to frame it as you see fit.

Click OK to return to the save screen, then click Save and select a location for your final Image.

## Turn your cropped image into a sticker

You can use your new image as a sticker for use in other projects. Just select Make Adhesive as shown here after making the initial cut.

Stickers remain in the list as long as you keep the app open, but you can start new projects with the sticker still intact. You can save it as a separate file for reuse, too, using the guide above.

Select the Stamp icon to the left of the box to paint the sticker on the canvas background as shown.

If you want to try another image, select Menu in the upper right corner and Open or start a New file. The sticker will remain in the custom stickers list.

With your new image, just select the Sticker again and get creative!
