## How To See Heat Map Using Google Analytics - Guide

Google Analytics provides a plethora of data about how and where visitors engage with your website. However, it can be difficult wrap your brain around the pages and pages of data tables. This is where heat maps come in handy: seeing the data shown alongside your actual pages makes it much simpler to understand what people have engaged with and where it connects on screen.

Using the Page Analytics extension for Google Chrome, you can achieve this using Google Analytics (by Google). It may not be as accurate as a dedicated heatmap tool (for example, some programs can record the path taken by a mouse and whether it clicked on unlinked objects), but it still helps you learn a lot about your site visually.

## How to view the heatmap with Google Analytics

To use the addon you need to have Google Chrome installed and then install the addon.

Once installed, the Analytics icon will be in the upper right corner of the window.

When you're on a website that you control, you can set it to "on" and use the "show colors" icon to display your Analytics data as a heatmap.
