Many PC users are getting Windows 11 updates, and if you've already received a notification, you're probably rubbing your hands with excitement.  However, Windows 11 has flaws, one of which is a flaw that prevents you from downloading it.  In fact, it could be a Windows 10 issue.

Despite rebooting the PC several times or refreshing the page, the “windows 11 download pending” issue is common among existing PC users, and the download usually does not start.  So what are your options?  Should you give up your hopes for Windows 11?

## Windows 11 download pending: How to get rid of the error

You should note that Windows 10 downloads updates to a separate folder on the C drive, and despite a download error, the operating system doesn't change its download path, or knows how to get rid of the corrupted file.  Therefore, you will have to manually clean the corrupted download file to allow Windows 10 to download the file again.

Open “This PC” and go to Local Disk C > Windows > Software Distribution > Download.

Here, you need to delete all files and folders you see here.

Once deleted, close the window and restart your PC.

Now open the Start menu and type “Updates”, then click on the Windows Update option.

You should see the Windows 11 update available for download.  If not, you can go to “Check for Updates”.
