## How to Test Smartphone CPU and GPU Throttling - Guide

Although some CPUs or GPUs tend to intentionally lower performance to reduce high temperatures and avoid physical damage to parts.

This throttling effect can also help reduce battery consumption as the device uses less power and stays cooler.  There are many apps on the Play Store and Appstore (for iPhone) to test the performance of your CPUs. But the most used tool, especially when you need to test CPU throttling, is the CPU Throttling Test app.  This app performs some CPU intensive tasks that will throttle your CPU due to the thermals it generates.

First of all, download the app from the play store.

Now open the application and click on OK button button when the screen asks.

Now just tap the START TEST button button at the top of the screen.

The test will start to run and show the test performance graph on the screen.

In the chart, you can see three colors mainly.

Green means your CPU is running normally, Yellow means it's starting to speed up, and Red means it's fully throttled.
