When a user launches the Fullscreen API, it is authorized to be activated.  This can be done with a mouse click or with the keyboard.  The API allows the website to provide a separate version of the website or a player that supports full screen mode.  A phishing site can use this mode to instantly go full screen and present an interface that looks identical to the real site.

Keep in mind this is not the same as Firefox's F11 feature or full screen mode.  We're talking about video players or anything else that goes full screen when the user presses a shortcut or moves the cursor over it.

Firefox, like any other browser, warns you when you play a movie in full-screen mode or run something that takes up the entire screen.  The message appears for a few moments before disappearing. ## Disable fullscreen warning message in Firefox

We will need to access the Advanced Preferences Page, also popularly called the configuration page.  These pages are generally not entertaining for everyone to use, and make changes carefully.  If you change the wrong setting, you will have to reset the browser and you may lose all your profiles.

Open a new faucet and type about:config in the address bar and press enter key

The page that loads next will warn you about the result of changing your main preferences.  Click on the “Accept the risk and continue” button button.

On the next screen, use the search bar to find full-screen-api.warning.timeout

when it shows up, click the pencil icon next to the setting to edit the value

The value that the setting accepts is in milliseconds.  You can set the value to Zero to disable it completely.

However, if you want to reduce the length of stay, you'll have to experiment a bit to find out.  I suggest keeping the time so that you can visualize for at least a second.  It will help if you unfortunately land on a fake website.

Once done, the next time you go fullscreen on a video, you won't see any warnings.

That said, if you want to revert, go back to the same setting and click the reset arrow to revert to the default value.
