## How to turn off in Windows 11 Snipping Tool with using the Registry Editor - Guide

The cropping tool has been in Windows for a long time as the default app for taking screenshots.  You can get the Snipping Tool window by pressing the keyboard shortcut and effectively taking a screenshot.  It has five unique modes like Rectangular Snip, Window Snip and the sky is the limit from there.

## How to    disable the crop tool using Registry Editor

You can use Registry Editor to block the Snipping Tool.

First, press the Windows key + the R keys together.

So type "regedit" to open up Registry Editor.

After opening Registry Editor, you will need to click on “File” and then click on “Export“.

Save the backup in a safe place.

When Registry Editor Opens up, go to this header file ~

Now, on the left side, look for a subkey called “TabletPC” under 'Microsoft'.

If you can't find it, right-click “Microsoft”, click “New>” and tap “Key“.

Name this new key “TabletPC“.

Now, on the right side, try to find the value “DisableSnippingTool”.

If you can't find it, right click on the right pane and click “New>” and then “DWORD Value (32-bit)“.

Set the name of this value to “DisableSnippingTool“.

Then double click on it to modify it further.

Set the value of this key to “1“.

Then press the Enter key to save and modify the value.

After that, close Registry Editor and restart your computer.  After restarting the system, you can no longer use the Snipping Tool.
