## How to turn off/on Shift Lock on Windows 11/10 Touch Keyboard - Guide

Windows includes a touch keyboard that you can click / tap to enter text.  This can be useful when you have a touchscreen PC without a physical keyboard.  You can double click/Shift key on the touch keyboard to activate Shift Lock and click/Shift again when ready to turn Shift Lock off.  When toggle lock is enabled on the touch pad, the toggle key is highlighted with a lock badge.  All letters on the touch pad are displayed in uppercase while toggle lock is turned on.

## To disable the onscreen keyboard, follow these steps:

Press Win + R> type regedit> press Enter button.

Click on the Yes option.

Navigate to TabletTip  1.7 in HKCU.

Double-click the EnableShiftLock DWORD value.

Set the value data to 0.

Click on OK button.

Restart the Windows Explorer process.

## To enable the onscreen keyboard, follow these steps:

Press Win + R to open the Run prompt.

Type regedit and press Enter button.

Click on the Yes button.

Navigate to TabletTip  1.7 in HKCU.

Right click on 1.7.

Select New > DWORD Value (32-bit).

Name it EnableShiftLock.

Double click on it to set the value data to 1.

Click on OK button.

Restart the Windows Explorer process using Task Manager.
